This is a highly versatile size for small through medium trout flies. Very, very light feeling compared to standard 9-footers, the 8-1/2' length helps to speed up the false cast cycle. The GL3 is the stiffest of the models. And the GLX's progressive taper and fine diameter tip make it easy to load even at short distances, with excellent tippet preservation.
