Troutbeads

Description

Troutbeads are a proven "lure" and are great choice for salmon, steelhead and trout fished with fly, float or spinning gear. These lures were first used in Alaskan rivers and streams and are now popular for use around the Great Lakes. Troutbeads are good Glo Bug alternatives and can be used in any situation where you would fish an egg imitation, single egg or spawn sack. These beads are also used by walleye and bass anglers for spinner and lure building.

The rigging is a simple technique. The angler places a bead on the line or tippet, then attaches a hook (size 6 - 12 are recommended) to the line. The bead can either be fished free floating or "pegged" to the line with a round toothpick (not included) one to two inches above the hook. The lure is presented just like any other egg imitation, dead drifted alone, under a float or strike indicator. Use just enough weight to get the bead to the bottom, but not so much that the natural drift is compromised.

Troutbeads are manufactured from hard plastic, with a hole drilled through the center for the line.

Specifications for Troutbeads can be seen in the Specifications tab above.

Troutbeads are made in the U.S.A.

 Great product
Pros: Looks Realistic, Irresistible to Fish
Best Uses: Drift fishing
Comments: Used the 6mm size this past November on Oak Orchard with my center pin setup. I hooked up with 35 fish (both browns, steelhead, and a couple kings) in 2 days including a 12 lb female brown. I was able to land most of these fish. My dad was fishing flies right below me and only hooked up with a few fish until I gave him the same setup with the bead. He was then able to start catching fish as often as I was. Troutbeads have become my goto bait for browns and steelhead.

 Great Product!
Pros: Irresistible to Fish, Strong, Looks Realistic, Easy To Store, Easy To Handle

Comments: Gotta love these beads. Apricot is a dead ringer for a dead egg impression and caramel is a perfect live egg color. I can't tell the difference between real egg or the trout bead and neither can the steelies.

Comments: If you want consistant 50+ fish days, buy yourself some trout beads. Glo Roe in 8mm for Fall and Winter trout that are in streams with salmon runs. The 6mm Glo Roe is perfect for Spring time or whenever brown trout and steelhead are spawning. That is it! Two sizes of one color. Place a hook or fly 4"-7" below the bead and hang on. Fishing IS catching when using trout beads.

 every trout fisherman should have!
Pros: Irresistible to Fish, Looks Realistic, Strong, Good For Variety Of Fish
Cons: Difficult to Handle
Best Uses: Great lakes tributaries
Comments: These trout beads really work great. The 6mm is almost identical to the real trout eggs. Just tie one an inch above a small hook and hold on! Kind of difficult to tie on because of the size but they work, the trout just suck this thing right up. very inexpensive, multiple colors for whatever condition you're fishing in.
