About Me:
I have been in the market for a gear bag to carry stocking foot waders and boots along with room for my way overloaded vest, lunch and all the STUFF we seem to need. A key requirement was a divided area for the wet stuff. Part of the motivation was something I can strap to the back of my Honda motorcycle and not have to worry so much about stream side parking. Well, let me tell you people, this bag has it all and in spades! The wet gear area has a triple folded, changing mat to keep feet and socks clean and dry. Lots of room for my XL tall waders and #14 BOA boots. The interior pocket is huge and easily holds my vest, landing net, a generous lunch, with room left for a small kitchen sink. It also has a zippered interior pocket and another outside to keep stuff handy. It has locking pull cords to hold a rod tube and a nice custom touch, little pockets to tuck the cords away when not in use. I researched a lot of bags and while you can pay a lot more, I don't believe you can get any more value for your dollar than with the Simms Headwaters Bag.
Pros: Divided compartment for wet gear, huge main storage bag, rod tube cords, excellent construction throughout, folding changing mat
Cons: Smooth bottom, would like some feet at corners to prevent scuffing and wear
Best Uses: None Specified
