Pros: Well built
Best Uses: Wading
Comments: What a difference in regards to my old boots. These boots are 3" taller which provides ankle and lower shin protection. They are very easy to get on and off due to the neoprene lining inside. I ordered the Vibram sole and added the Sims cleats. The boots are a bit stiff at first but broke in quickly. The area that I fish (almost daily) has steep trails down to the river. Between the rocks and the wet leaves I fell down many times while wearing my (felt sole) boots. I have yet to fall wearing these boots. The sole grips very well and the cleats make a huge difference.
Pros: size options, Tough & Durable
Comments: Excellent boot

Cons: little heavy when wet
Comments: After trying diferents brands, finally bought this ones and what a diference!! Good quality and good price!
 So far very pleased!
Pros: Tough & Durable, size options, support, comfort, Quality Construction
Cons: not light
Best Uses: all purpose wading
Comments: These boots are great. Without the screw ins they offer great traction and stability. I wear a size 15EEEE so I upsized and got them in 16s. I am able to wear them with my sock waders and a nice wool sock under without issue. They work well in rocky uneven surfaces, sandy bottoms, and handle soft bottoms nicely. The hard toe has done its job. The only drawback is they do have weight to them, but it is from the solid materials that make it a good set of boots for guys like me.
Very good Simms quality and great value!
Pros: Vibram Sole, Quality Construction, Tough & Durable
Comments: I've rented these boots two years in a row for my week-long Summer fishing trips and decided to buy my own pair for this year. There seems to be a couple of improvements over the Freestones I rented. The toe box seems slightly roomier which definitely made them more comfortable for me. The large horizontal pull-on strap on the back of the boot works great to help get them on & off easily. They are very well constructed and the Vibram soles work great for short hikes between fishing holes not to mention good traction in the river. These boots can't be beat if your budget is under $150. I would highly recommend these boots.
 Excellent Boots (from prior model)
Pros: Good fit., Well made., Secure feeling in fast streams.
Comments: Comfortable enough to fish the whole day. Bought the Simms Freestone Felt Sole Wading Boots for an 8-day trip. Fished the better part of 8 hours each day without any problems. Wore in well and shaped themselves to my feet after a day or so. Recommended.

Pros: size options, support, comfort
Cons: not light
Best Uses: all purpose wading
Comments: I wear a size 14 - 15 shoe, so with the added material of socks and wader footies I felt I would need a size 16 in a wading boot. Initially I thought I would have to pay a ton of money for customization or compromise by purchasing a lesser quality boot. The Simms Freestone Wading boot was neither. High quality at a reasonable cost. I have used them about 15 times already and love them. Great ankle support gives me wading confidence. They are very comfortable as well. I couldn't be more pleased. I wade an area with very slick rock slabs and the soles provide a good grip even without adding cleats or studs. I need new waders - hope I can find a pair that has room for my foot size!
 solid boot (from prior model)
Pros: durable, good protection
Cons: heavier, drain slow
Best Uses: anywhere feet would take a lot of abuse
Comments: This is my third boot manufacturer and by far simms has been the best. Had the hodgmans from walmart, korkers, and now these. Very solid boot with good protection and comfort. The grip is as would be expected from felt. A bit heavy and drain slow but make up for it with protection and durability. The price is excellent for the quality compared to the others I have tried. Good value.
