 Fine reel
Pros: Smooth Reeling
Cons: Quick Fire & higher spool capacity would be nice
Best Uses: Light fresh water, boat or shore
Comments: I own two of these reels, one with front drag, one with rear drag. Previous reviewers have called this an "entry level" reel; I disagree. Being primarily a Crappie man, my first Sienna came as part of a combo with a medium light Shimano rod. Three years and many fish later, it's still performing perfectly. Along the way, I've landed many species other than Crappie, including some decent Largemouth Bass, Channel Cats, even a Northern Pike, all on Crappie gear; next problem will be the first. The only caution I would suggest is to make sure the anti-reverse is engaged; this reel's action is so smooth that it WILL reverse itself if you're not paying attention, and create a mess if you're not careful. I've been an avid angler for 60+ years, and owned many different brands of reels. Of all of them, I much prefer the Shimanos.

 Shimano quality
Pros: Price, rear drag, reliable
Cons: Wish it had the Quick Fire setup.
Comments: I have several rear drag Shimano spinning reels, really like the way they perform. Needed another for a new rod, but didn't want to spend a lot. This model is perfect for my light line use.

 Solid reel for the price
Comments: I really like the rear drag feature. Reel itself is very smooth, and a great value for the price.

 Great Reel!
Pros: Smooth Drag System, Smooth Reeling
Cons: Wish it had the Quick Fire setup.
Comments: I have used Shimano reels for many years. This is the first new reel I have purchased in quite a while. I'm very impressed. I would have liked the Quick Fire casting feature, but still a great reel.

 5 Stars in it's class
Pros: Rear Drag
Comments: You get Shimano's Technology, a reliable reel at a great price and a rear drag. Merely lifting the rod with a fish on places the drag knob at eye level. Much easier to control rear drag , than trying to reach up and around the line to adjust a front drag. I purchased the reel for ultra-light use -2-3# line- from a preset drag on light line - it is often necessary to LOOSEN the drag...easier with rear drag.

 Good value!
Pros: Price
Comments: This reel is a good value, entry level Shimano reel that performs very well. I like the rear drag adjustment when I have a fish on and want to change the drag. It is a great entry level reel for someone looking for an inexpensive spinning reel that will still give you that smooth Shimano feel.

 Great Reel!
Pros: Durable, Line Doesn't Tangle, Smooth Drag System, Smooth Reeling, Easy Casting, Shimano, Rear drag, Reliable
Cons: No Fightin' Drag
Best Uses: All fresh water, Shore Casting, River Fishing, Ice fishing
Comments: I am actually using this mostly for ice fishing, though it will also be used some on soft water. Love the rear drag adjustment as opposed to front drag. Really wish it had Shimano's Fightin' Drag. Love that on the Spirex and older Shimanos

 great striper reel
Pros: Durable, Smooth Drag System, Smooth Reeling
Comments: I do a lot of striper fishing ususally taking my kids and their friends the rear drag is a huge plus for the kids who have no experience fighting fish. I can adjust the drag without interfering with the catching. Great reel. I own 12.
