Shimano Clarus Salmon & Steelhead Spinning Rods

Shimano Clarus Salmon & Steelhead Spinning Rods are designed for the serious salmon and steelhead angler. Shimano has updated these popular rods with even more great features including redesigned IM-8 blanks which are lighter and more sensitive to help you catch more fish.

Shimano used some of the best fisherman and dealer input when creating these rods. Additional key features include the newly designed reel seats and Grade A cork handles. All Clarus rods are equipped with lightweight Fuji Aluminum Oxide guides. These guides are produced from a special blend of aluminum oxides and are diamond polished to an ultra smooth finish. This guide system offers greater sensitivity, castability, increased accuracy, and decreased line wear.

Pros: Everything
Best Uses: shore casting for lake trout
Comments: Good quality rod. Would purchase again. Perfect for long casts, I paired this rod (9.5 ft) with a shimano solstace 4000 and I can cast a 1 oz spoon about 80 yards or more.
 Nice rod
Pros: Good Tip Action
Best Uses: Float fishing
Comments: I have only used it a couple times for float fishing but it has worked well and has great action, so far very happy with it.

Great salmon,steelhead,trout rod
Pros: Sensitive, Accurate Casting, Good Tip Action
Cons: Not best for braided line
Best Uses: Lake Fishing, River Fishing
Comments: I keep 4 rods as backup 2 spinning 9ft 6-12 / 2 spinning 8'6 8-17.. Lighter rods are used for floats & jigs. Medium-Heavy for side planners, plugs & spoons.

 Excellent all-around salmon/steelhead
Pros: Accurate Casting, Durable, Good Tip Action, Sensitive
Best Uses: River Fishing, Pier Fishing
Comments: Great for a beginner or someone who wants a salmon rod that can handle a steel head if one gets on. I have both handle styles in the 9', one is better for bait fishing the other better for casting all day. Both are great off the pier or in the river and light and sensitive enough to also work when I am salmon fishing but instead find the perch.
 nice rod
Pros: Sensitive, Good Tip Action
Best Uses: Ocean Fishing, River Fishing, Small Fish
Comments: Bought this rod for small pretadory fishing in the Mediterranean sea. Such as sea bass and barracuda. Great rod for its price, very light and ballances with 2500-4000 sized shimano reels. It has a very sensitive tip and a stiff body. Cool graphite color and sexy guide wrapping, far greater than the older clarus model. this rod could have been improved if the backgrip was a bit shorter than it is..since it's a bit too long for its action (1/4-1 oz)
