great long distance lakeshore spinning rod
Pros: reel seat and cork grip
Best Uses: long distance spoon casting
Comments: haven't used it yet but much like the rods I have been using to long distance cast spoons to lakers and salmon.
Very good rod for this price
Comments: I bought this rod for my 10 years old son thinking about fishing for chum salmon. When I got this rod I noticed that the handle looks a bit bulky and too long for the boy. And frankly I was a bit disappointed. But any way my son was happy to get new toy and was ready to give it a try. The very first fishing trip showed that my first impression was totally wrong. In fact this rod is perfectly balanced (thanks to the long handle), super sensitive, very light but strong enough to pull out 25lb salmon. My son caught that day 20 chums average 20lb weight. In fact I love this rod more than my more expensive Cabelas. This rod definitely suits for salmon/steelhead fishing. Very happy with purchase.

 Looks and feels really great!
Pros: Solidly made, Good Tip Action, Great balance, Light weight
Best Uses: Salmon fishing, Ocean Fishing, River Fishing
Comments: I've been a Berkley customer until now, after looking into the making of graphite rods and finding that different makers use the same graphite blanks I was willing to give the moderately priced Shakespeare a try. This is a rod using the IM-8 blank, just as the several Berkley Air rods I already own. I have purchased two of the Shakespeare Agility rods and one of the reels now, I'd buy another in a heartbeat. Good solid construction, great feel in your hand, nice balance. I haven't gone out to fish with it yet but I am sure it will get the job done.

 Great Rod for the price!
Pros: Light weight, Good Tip Action, Durable
Best Uses: Large Fish, River Fishing
Comments: This the 3rd Shakespeare rod in this line I've owned. They are light weight, durable and I love the action. The rod is only used for salmon fishing in NY. Year after year the rod earns it's keep. The area I fish is very rocky and the rod takes a lot of abuse, so when it gets damaged the price is not an issue.

Pros: Accurate Casting, Sensitive
Cons: Poor Construction
Best Uses: River Fishing
Comments: i caught several nice steelhead with this rod, i use 10 pound mono and over a couple weekends the line wore deep grooves in the tip. other than that its a good rod. the tip needs to be made from stronger material, i change it and it works great.

Nice rods for the price.
Pros: Good Tip Action, Lightweight, Sensitive, Accurate Casting
Best Uses: River Fishing, Large Fish
Comments: Very good graphite rods in this price range. I fish and guide with the 10'6 light versions and just purchased the 8'6 medium heavy and heavy action models. Will be used primarily as Delaware river striper rods and also spinning for musky, pike, and catfishing. Saltwater would not be out of the question and I will also use these on large water salmon out west and in NY.

 shakespeare agility im-8 spinning rod
Pros: Sensitive, Good Tip Action, Accurate Casting
Cons: Breaks Easily
Best Uses: River Fishing
Comments: the rod is very brittle. it broke casting after about three hours of use. I couldn't see any nicks or scrapes on the rod so it appears to be a material related problem. not very durable. does look good and casts well when it was working.
