 >  > Schooley's Spring Bobber Pole, Reel and Accessories

This is a great package for light ice fishing. It includes a Schooley's spring bobber pole in either a 21", 26", or 40" length, a jig pole reel with an adjustable drag, pre-spooled with line, a reel line marker pin, a rod stand and even an ice fishing jig.

The reel may be either red, yellow or green in color. The 26" and 40" rods are a bit stiffer than the 21" rod, but all are designed for panfish.

Customer Reviews
 Works great!
Pros: easy to use, catches fish, inexpensive
Best Uses: Ice fishing
Comments: I bought the 21" version for my first ice fishing trip. Caught 15 fish in about 2 hours - 8 bluegills, 5 largemouth bass, 1 pumpkinseed, and a 14" white crappie! This combo is awesome, for just under $8 you get everything you need to catch fish through the ice once a hole has been made. I just added bait onto the jig. The spring bobber makes it very easy to detect fish biting. The line that comes pre-spooled is Vicious Fishing Hi-vis 2 lb line (I called Schooley's to ask) and worked very well - no coils coming off the reel, easy to see on the ice, and it didn't break. Overall, I would highly recommend this product - easy to use, catches fish, and affordable.
 Schooley's is the BEST
Pros: Sturdy, lots of features, SHORT
Best Uses: Ice Fishing by sight in a shanty
Comments: OUTSTANDING little rods. Short enough you can sit right over the hole and watch the Crappie / Perch come in and grab your lure. Handle is long and sturdy enough you can put them in a holder when the action is slow and just watch the EXCELLENT spring bobber to. The pin to set depth with in the reel is great to. No downside to these! Do what their supposed to do, and do it well.
 Ice fishing rods
Pros: Good for fishing shallow water panfish
Comments: Great pole at a great price

Cheap and fun
Pros: cheap, Easy To Transport
Best Uses: Fishing
Comments: Rod is easy to use and fun to jig. You really got to pay attention if your not holding the rod to set the hook i have lost a few fish being late to set it. Worth the money to have in addition to tip ups. May try it off the dock to snag a lazy lunker this summer.
Pros: cheap, easy to use, effective
Comments: This is my first season ice fishing (stocked trout in a small lake), so I got the simplest gear possible. The Schooley is easy to use, easy to maintain and super effective. The spring bobber is super-sensitive and doesn't ice up and sink like a traditional bobber. I've caught scads of trout and bluegill with this rod, and I can't wait to try it from a dock or canoe. Well worth the 8 bucks.
 Great product (and service)!
Comments: Does exactly what it should in an economic and reliable way. I have two of these in my kit and typically dead stick with them. Wouldn't be without them.
Good, simple rod for panfish in shallow water
Pros: Great value, Sensitive, easy to use
Comments: I purchased based on other good reviews. It seems rather cheaply made, but for the price I won't complain. I plan to mainly use it as a spare or back up rod when fishing for panfish in a shallow lake - I doubt it would be very good for much more, but why spend more for something as simple as panfish? Really, for the price it's pretty sweet that you get the whole setup - rod, reel, line, spring bobber, and they even included a teardrop jig!

 Worth the Money
Comments: I recently bought the 26in and couldn't be happier. Works great on everything from small perch and bluegill to good size crappie. For the money, you can't go wrong. I am going to be ordering a couple more.

 awesome rod
Pros: easy to use
Cons: real knob could be a bit longer
Best Uses: Ice Fishing
Comments: the best rod money can buy for ice fishing! great for panfish, but can also handle the bigger ones to with no problem. could use a longer handle to reel with when you have gloves on, the depth pin gets in the way.still it's the only rods i use.
Great rig for pan fishing in the shallows
Pros: Easy, great spring bobber action, cheap
Best Uses: Jigging in the shallows.
Comments: Bought this rod originally for a cheap spare. I use it more than my other rods and you cannot beat the price for the end product. A complete fishing rig for pan fishing in the shallows (5-10').
Pros: Inexpensive, strong, effective
Best Uses: deadsticking or fishing with kids
Comments: These will never go out of style. and they are almost indestructible. These especially good for deadstcking while you are jigging nearby with a different rod.

Excellent poles! The only one's I use.
Pros: Sensitive, Good Tip Action, Lightweight, Durable, Easy To Transport, Flexible
Best Uses: Ice Fishing
Comments: This is the best product yet today! I had some old one's, but fish usa just happened to carry these yet and I couldn't be happier. These are the only poles I use for ice fishing. Fast shipping and great product. Will surely buy again.
 Just what I needed!
Pros: Sensitive, Lightweight, Easy To Transport, Good Tip Action
Best Uses: Ice Fishing, Small Fish
Comments: I needed a simple panfish pole for using at the Slough, this is exactly what I needed. Simple and good construction.
Good functional combo
Pros: Trouble free, Lightweight, Durable, Easy To Transport
Cons: Cheap plastic handle
Best Uses: Shallow water panfishing, Ice Fishing
Comments: Good basic rig for shallow to medium depth(up to about 20') panfish rig. Trouble free and durable. I've used the 26" combo for years, and just bought a couple of the 40" rigs for hole hopping outside the shack. I use spinning rigs from time to time, but keep coming back to the Schooleys for the durability and ease of use. The only downside, which is minor for me, is they don't have quite the action of a higher dollar rod,but the simplicity and lack of problems more than make up for it. The one thing I would like to change is to have a wooden handle instead of the plastic, even if it cost a little more.

 An excelent combo.
Pros: Lightweight, Sensitive, Good Tip Action
Comments: Steel endring should be covered with plastic so the fishing line does not freeze in extreeme cold conditions.

 Cool Little Pole
Pros: Great value, Good Tip Action
Best Uses: Ice Fishing
Comments: I bought this rod to fish lightweight jigs on light line. It's a pretty slick little rig and you can't beat the price. It comes spooled with line (it looks to be 6 lb test or so and was too heavy for my application, though the yellow line is pleasantly very visible on the ice) and a little ice jig as well. The only thing lacking would be a tiny loop built in to hook the miniscule ice hooks for transport. Other than that I couldn't be happier. By the way, the shipping was absurdly fast. Got my order just a couple days after placing it.
great for tip downs+jigging.
Pros: Sensitive, Lightweight, Good Tip Action, Easy To Transport, Nice spring bobber, Durable
Best Uses: Tip downs or jigging, Ice Fishing
Comments: So far in the last 2 years I have bought over 30 of these for tip down fishing. Every one I give/sell these too love them. Very nice for the money, I keeo finding more uses for these rods. 26" best for homemade tip downs. Will not be disapointed.

 Nice Poles-especially for kids
Comments: This is a great pole for kids and adults. During a light bite the spring bobber is excellent for detecting those fussy fish which makes it easier and more successful for the kids to catch fish and have fun doing so. It's also tough enough to handle anything the kids can dish out and it's very easy for them to use.

 Great replacement product
Pros: Easy instalation
Best Uses: Light biting fish
Comments: I wanted a spring bobber to add to my rod tip at times. Mainly for light biting crappie. One of my rods the clip didnt fit through the guide. So I had to twist the spring with pliers and mount it upside down.I carry small zip ties & put one around the clip to cinch it.It definatly improved my catching.

 These are perfect!
Pros: Durable
Best Uses: Ice fishing
Comments: We purchased these for our boys. They are 4, 5, and 9, We have not had a tangled line yet as we use the tip-up line for these poles. I also love them as the energy level is extreme pulling up a fish by hand rather then using a reel! We will be purchasing many more in the future!

 great value
Pros: Good Tip Action, Sensitive
Best Uses: Ice fishing
Comments: wish i would have known about these years ago. great rig for ice fishing. just need to be careful with the "spring bobber". can't just throw a bunch of them in your bucket with your other gear. there is also an optional attachable rod holder that i have not made my mind up about whether it is good or not. takes up more room to store and transport. everyone should have several.

 Simplicity Works!
Comments: I have always enjoyed ice-fishing, but I never made an investment in a lot of gear because I live at the southern fringe of dependable ice-fishing. But the last two years we've had good ice, for at least a few weeks and I decided to take advantage of the opportunity. I bought Schooley's spring-bobber rods because they were inexpensive and appeared simple to use, for someone who was not skilled at ice fishing. My guess proved right. These rods are easy for anyone to use, but they are all you need to catch sunfish, crappie and perch. I don't feel the need to get anything more sophisticated. Sometimes, simplicity is the best approach. Thanks for a good product.

5 stars!
Pros: Lightweight, Durable, Versatile
Best Uses: Freshwater Fishing
Comments: I have much more expensive rods and reels for ice fishing, but for pan fish, these rods are perfect. The smallest lift or drop is signaled and the reel is simple, yet effective to bring in the fish. This combo will be hard to beat for the price. I have used them for many years and highly recommend them.
