Customer Reviews
great reel
Pros: price
Cons: none yet
Best Uses: Steelhead, Larger fish
Comments: This reel came with a Redington Crosswaters or Path combo, I can't remember which one but I bought the combo in a pinch after someone stole my St.Croix set up right out of my truck at the start of Steelhead season. So far I love the combo. I was kind of concerned that half of the reel is aluminum and the other half being some type of polymer but it's held up very well in rough conditions. This reel is much better than the Okuma reel I had. It's larger size makes for quicker retrieval and the drag system is much smoother. A local fly shop I frequent sells everything from Redington to Sage and to be honest, there's not much, if any difference between this reel and ones in the 150-200 dollar range. I haven't had any issues with this reel (1 season old) and I've landed a lot of Steelhead since. Yes there are prettier, all metal reels but really...they all work the same and this one works very well.
 Good reel but watch out
Pros: Line Capacity, GREAT DRAG, Large arbor
Cons: Plastic inner housing
Best Uses: Steelhead
Comments: I was in love with this reel, but be careful. the 4rth time i used my new reel the spool feel off into the salmon river in january (self explanitory) the spool fell off because there is a small screw that holds the spool to a plastic housing which then connects to the pin. its a mircale i didn't lose the screw in the river. its a simple design, easy to change spools however i'm not happy that it fell apart. That being said the drag and line capacity on this reel is great and a small screw driver fixed my problem. for the price compaired to other reels in this class i still think its a good deal
