Rapala Deep Tail Dancer - Flash Perch

Rapala Deep Tail Dancer

Description

The Rapala Deep Tail Dancer features an enlarged, extreme diving lip that plummets the lure as deep as 30 feet. The deep diving banana style body swims with a pronounced wide tail action, yet still maintains Rapala's signature "wounded minnow" attraction.

The Rapala Deep Tail Dancer features balsa wood construction, an internal rattle system and premium black nickel VMC treble hooks. The Rapala Deep Tail Dancer gets down deep where the big fish lurk in the summer and early fall months. These lures are hand tuned and tank tested, running true right out of the box like all Rapala lures.

 Rapala Tail Dancer
Pros: Lots of action at all speeds
Best Uses: Walleye
Comments: I have used tail dancers for walleye with great success in Lake Erie
 WOW ! for Walleye
Pros: Great action, Great vibration, Great quality
Comments: Perfect lure (deep tail dancer 30) for trolling walleye
Best slow trolling lure I've ever used.
Pros: Great at bumping bottom without hangups, Lots of wiggle at even the slowest speeds
Comments: I troll crankbaits from a kayak in Lake Erie. This past summer I logged about 100+ hours in the kayak and can say that this crankbait outfished everything else I tried by a factor of 5...and that's a low estimate. On one hot August day, the water temp was a preposterous and record setting 78 deg F. I was trolling a Rapala Taildancer and a Rapala Shad Rap on opposite sides of the kayak in 8-15 ft of water - both were of the 'bleeding tiger' color pattern. On a day I expected to catch nothing, I netted 5 freshwater drum, 3 smallmouth, 1 silver bass, 1 walleye, 1 yellow perch, and 1 rock bass in under 3 hours. ALL were caught on the TDD07 taildancer. Wish I had known about this lure before I filled my tacklebox with other crankbaits. I saw enough this summer to say this lure is my #1 go-to trolling lure and I doubt I'll use anything else for a long while. That thin tail sets something off in fish that normally wouldn't be biting.

A must have fish for catching fish
Pros: Definitely catches the fish., Tracks straight out of the box
Cons: Lip breaks off from a strong pull., Cost
Comments: This is my go to lure for trolling in the reef. It definitely catches reef fish anywhere from Barracuda to emperor's and trevally. Only issue is that many times a larger fish will pull so hard that the lip is detached to the body. I have lost five trophy fish because I only came back with the pulled lip. Hopefully Rapala will increase the strength so we can bring in the trophy. The lip broke despite light drag.
 Great trolling lure
Pros: runs true
Comments: these lures run true all the time and are great for trolling for walleye in the waters of NY.

Pros: No tuning required out of the box
Cons: Better have a rod holder
Best Uses: deep water trolling
Comments: I have not used the new UV colors yet. I started using the Tail Dancers last year, they dive, run true and have caught fish looking faorward to running the UV's.
