PowerPro Super 8 Slick Microfilament Braid

PowerPro Super 8 Slick Microfilament Braid features 8 yarn spectra fiber construction, is braided under high tension giving it a "smooth as silk" feeling. The castability is greatly increased due to the reduced line friction on the spool as well as the rod guides. Super 8 Slick Microfilament Braid is much quieter than most braids making it easier to fish with stealth. Super 8 Slick is much less affected by saltwater, UV rays, and most chemicals and solvents. The life of Super Slick line is much longer than monofilament lines (as a general rule, it lasts five times longer than monofilament lines). With Super Slick, you'll land fish, and lose less tackle.

PowerPro Super 8 Slick Microfilament Braid is composed of polyethylene, a very slick plastic. In fact, the only material that is slicker than Spectra is teflon. Spectra, combined with PowerPro's enhanced body technology, makes a smoother and quieter line, which is gentler on rod guides and reels than the older styles of braids.

Super 8 Slick Microfilament Braid has a slightly lower specific gravity than water. Unlike heavier nylon and Dacron lines that sink, Super Slick will tend to stay towards the surface. This means that you’ll get quicker control of your fish after the hook up because there is less of a belly in the line.

PowerPro Super 8 Slick Microfilament Braid is available in Aqua Green. Aqua green is a great low impact color for a stealthy presentation when fish are line wary. This line is much thinner than monofilament.

Features of the PowerPro Super 8 Slick Microfilament Braid include:

  • Casts farther
  • Fishes quieter
  • Superb knot strength
  • Will not dig in on the spool
  • Near zero stretch
  • Incredible sensitivity
  • Zero reel memory
  • Will not cut into rod guides

 Great Spectra Line
Pros: Strong and casts well
Best Uses: Landing big fish
Comments: I like using spectra braid line and have used other brands, but so far this line beats them all. It casts long and smooth, and is very strong. So far, it hasn't started to look faded or frayed like some other braided lines after several fishing trips. And, it hasn't dug into the spool after long battles with big fish. I use 30 lb test on fairly small spinning reel spools, but its small diameter will put plenty of line on the spool to land that big fish.

Power Pro in 10 lb test
Comments: Used for drift fishing this morning. Worked exceptional. Great line!!
 Power Pro 8 Slick
Pros: Thin, casting ability
Cons: Appears to lose color, shape
Best Uses: Small-med size fish
Comments: Thought this would equal or exceed the Suffix version but it doesn't.
 very strong and durable
Comments: I think this is the best cable on the market today.
 Goodbye Monofilament!
Pros: Stealth, Easy to handle, Strong, Knot Strength
Best Uses: Jigging, Top Water Fishing
Comments: I got a roll of 15lbs braided to replace my 10lbs monofilament line. It has been great so far. I don't have to worry about the line shooting out of the spool when I make a cast anymore, because of the Zero Reel memory. It cast's further than my old line. Stays on the surface and is great for top water lures. A pair of braided line cissors is needed to cut the Power Pro Super 8 Slick Line.
Comments: I have always used the classic PowerPro, friction was the only thing I didn't like very much! that sqeeling sound was fun and all but the line gets damaged fairly quickly.. but this slick line.. is smooth and casts much better against the wind.. I have baught a smaller spool just to test, now I regret that, I should have baught a larger one, because this line has made the top of my line list..
