 Good combo
Pros: Versitile
Cons: Rod a little stiff
Comments: Versatile - this rod/reel can fish 15 - 40 lb tackle. Catch Calico Bass to Yellowtail. Sandabs to Sharks. I load the reel with 50 lb Spectre - 300 yds and 100 yds 40 lb mono, then use a fluorocarbon leader for top fishing 12 - 40 lb test. I caught 3 keeper White Sea Bass, (28" long minimum) 10 rock cod, a Ling Cod (24"), Sole and a Whitefish... all before noon on an overnight trip. Had a good day! The new Jigmasters (black) seem to be better build than the old ones (red). I have both. While they have bushings instead of bearings, I have a Squidder (ball bearing) and can't cast any farther. It makes sense to get the combo for $20 more than just the reel in my book. This rod is a little stiff for 15 lb tackle.
