I have 3 Okuma solaris rated 3 to8
Pros: great for throwing 8 and bait, well made
Cons: a little too stiff for plugging, unless you are throwing heavy plugs it is stiff
Best Uses: 8 and bait
Comments: they are very well priced I like the conventional rods better than the spinning rod
 feels reliable
Comments: I bought 10 feet Medium Heavy, it doesn't feel like Medium Heavy, but feels more like a HEAVY rod, doesn't bend much and feels stiff. Exactly what I need to cast 5oz sinkers far. I weighed this rod, it was 20oz. Other 10ft Medium Heavy rod that I have made by Tsunami weighs 13oz, and it really feels like a medium heavy. It would be very helpful to include the weight of the rods in the specifications.

 Unbeatable Value
Pros: beautifully constructed, very strong backbone, large strong guides, moderate weight, can handle heavy sinkers & big fish
Comments: I've paired this with a Penn Spin FisherV 8500LL reel and 50 lb braid. Gets a 10oz sinker waaay out there, and has a ton of backbone. It's a beautifully made rod with really large diameter guides that are very strong. I guess if one wanted to pay an additional 100 - 200 dollars more you might be able to shave 3 - 5 oz off the wight of this rod and have something as robust as this Solaris, but that's not something that's a big deal to me. I have the 10 ft. version and I love it.
 nice pole
Comments: Nice and light but i do belive you could make it a wee bit thinner over all awasome rod when throwing plugs over 2oz

 Excellent product at awesome price
Pros: Durable, Good gripnice feel
Best Uses: Ocean Fishing
Comments: OKUMA's surf rods are simply the best rods for the money. I'm sure the blanks used by some of the high dollar companies are a bit lighter but these really are awesome rods. I have several, along with several from Lamiglas and even though the Lamiglas rods are not high dollar - they are at my upper limit - the OKUMA rods are just as reliable, sensitive and durable.

 Excellent product
Comments: I can't imagine spending several hundred dollars for a surf rod when you can buy most of the OKUMA rods for well under $100. I'm fishing for anything from whiting to 100 pound blacktip sharks and this rod can handle all of it.

 Baby got back!
Pros: Good Tip Action, Sensitive, Flexible, Accurate Casting, Lightweight
Best Uses: Large Fish, Ocean Fishing
Comments: My first catch on this pole was a large moray eel which I boosted up, no problem. I especially like it's sensitivity, light weight and comfortable cork handles. I will be using this pole primarily for dunking live and cut baits and really like how it matches up with my new Penn Battle 8000. I think with this setup I should be able to contend with anything swimming that may want a piece of my bait.

I would buy it again.I own 3 Okuma poles
Pros: Good Tip Action, Sensitive, Accurate Casting, Durable
Best Uses: Ocean Fishing, Small Fish, Large Fish
Comments: The Okuma pole is very easy to cast and handles well. The only thing that is not very good but is ok is the butt cap. It gets caught in the sandspike. Better with a straight design
I would buy this product again and agai

 Solaris Surf SS-S-902M-1
Pros: Easy To Transport, Good Tip Action, Accurate Casting, Durable, Flexible, Sensitive
Best Uses: Ocean Fishing
Comments: This is a good basic entry level rod. For plugging it gets heavy fast. It is good or all around surf action. If you need an inexpensive durable piece of equipment this is a good rod to buy. I have an Avenger 50 with thirty pound power pro on this rod. I use it for cut baits and plugs.
