 Awesome Reel
Pros: Smooth Drag System, Smooth Reeling, Strong and Reliable
Best Uses: Landing big fish
Comments: I now have 4 of these reels in 3 different sizes. They are great reliable reels, have not had a single problem with any of them. And the price simply cannot be beat for the quality of this reel. I have landed several king salmon in the mid 20 lb range on the 30B model. It handled them with ease. I have it paired with a 9' light action salmon/steelhead rod.

 Great Reel
Pros: Simple, reliable, smooth, Dependable
Best Uses: catching fish
Comments: I bought this reel for river salmon fishing with bobber and roe. What a great reel. The casting is excellent and the retrieve is very smooth. I liked it so much that I immediately bought another one! I am a big fan of Okuma reels, I use them for deep ocean jigging as well as finesse salmon fishing. For the price and performance, they cannot be beat.

Reliable, Great for the money reel.
Comments: Sure this reel is no Shimano Stradic, but at this price point you can't beat it. I purchased the 40 a year after receiving the 30 as a gift and that should tell you something. I fish 85% saltwater, and assuming you freshwater wash the reel after use, it will hold up. I highly recommend this reel for someone wanting a entry level reel under $75. I typically fish for mangrove snapper, reds, trout, jack and snook and I have the 40 spooled with 15 lb braid. Pairs nicely. This reel casts well and has a pretty effective drag. Buy now.

As advertised...in a really good way.
Pros: Easy Casting, Smooth Drag System, Dependable, Smooth Reeling
Best Uses: Ocean Fishing, Jigging, Trolling, Shore Casting, River Fishing
Comments: I received one of these reels as a gift and loved it so much I purchased one for my brother. The reel is truly a great value buy, the best bang for your buck, but don't be misled by me calling it a "value" reel as it has great performance. We fish inshore Tampa Bay for Reds and I know I can always depend on it. I would def recommend it to anyone for any type of fishing - saltwater or fresh.

100 + Steelhead with the #20 (from prior model)
Pros: Easy Casting, Durable, Smooth Reeling, Reliable, Smooth Drag System
Best Uses: River Fishing
Comments: Drift fishing steelhead from a boat avg.8-16lb fish.Bail is a little hard to engage after a cast for my friends that use this reel. I try and get them to flip the bail by hand. These reels fish 3-5 days a week from Dec-March and not a problem ,retired and live on the river that's the reason I fish so much.I release all wild fish (only killed 2 hatchery last year) 22 lb hatchery steelhead released last year using the #20 reel 10 lb line
