Maxima Chameleon Monofilament Leader Material

Description

Maxima Chameleon Monofilament Leader Material features Maxima's tough, high durability finish for exceptional abrasion resistance. Popular for use in both freshwater and saltwater environments, this line has the unique property of changing hues to match the color of the surroundings, for invisibility in water that is muddy or lightly stained.

Maxima Chameleon Monofilament Leader Material is great for use as fly fishing leader material as well as a general leader material for a wide variety of conventional uses. This line features a stiff formula, harder than Maxima Ultragreen and Maxima Clear leader materials. The line color is Chameleon brown.

Great for most fly fishing
Pros: Abrasion resistance & strength
Comments: I have used this for over 40 years of flyfishing for everything from permit & mahimahi to crappie& catfish. Its abrasion resistance is far superior to most leaders (try it against coral) and strength is legendary.Stiffness may be a bit too much for some who use very light tippets regularly for dries (clear or UG seem less stiff v. chameleon). It forms blood knots better than most other material.Cheap & effective!

Quite' Sneaky' Easy presentation, Extends nice with no backlash
Pros: Easy To Handle
Comments: Rigging your fly Rod depending on game 'Is a quest for the ultimate combination. I'ts really a lot like golf, It can't be truly perfected And all you can do is research and adjust to a condition that changes hourly' depending on stream versus pool, Spawning and waiting for tide to do their dance of love.

Comments: Good strong knots great for leader building
 Stiff
Cons: stiff
Comments: Seems stiffer than the Ultragreen, which makes no sense. Otherwise, I'd go with a Flourocarbon leader over this anyday.

Pros: High strength, Knot strength, affordable
Comments: I have recently begun to tie my own leaders for salmon, browns and steel head. I asked my local fly shop owner what he uses when he guides on the salmon river. You guessed it...Maxima Chameleon. It's great to work with and the strength is unparalleled.

Saved a lot making my own tapered leader
Pros: Good For Variety Of Fish, Couldn't be easier, Easy To Store, Easy To Handle, Strong
Best Uses: Fresh Water
Comments: Always thought making your own tapered leaders was time consuming and wouldn't be as strong as a manufactured tapered leader. I was wrong in both cases. With this material and a blood knot tool, it doesn't get any easier. Will end up saving well over a $150.00 making my own and produce twice as many with this material. I can change tippet strenghts as needed right on the stream.

Maxima Tippet spools - Ultra green
Pros: Easy To Handle, Easy To Store, Good For Variety Of Fish
Best Uses: Fresh Water, Salt Water, Shore Casting
Comments: I purchased the Maxima Tippet Material to fish for salmon and brown trout in Ultra Green. Last year I could see the fish were moving away from the Maxima chameleom, line shy, so I changed to the clearer maxima to eliminate the possiblilty. It works very well on trout, thus far.
