Description

The Ice Master Ice Auger/Power Drill Conversion Kits make converting your hand auger into a power that is as easy as inserting a drill bit into your drill! The affordable Ice Master adapters turn your existing power drill and ice auger into a easy-to-configure power auger!

These Adapters will work with any cordless power drill, but 18.0 volt or higher drills are recommended. The Adapter fits 12 drill chucks.

The Ice Master features the exclusive "Adapter Retainer". This feature protects the auger from falling through the ice (to the bottom of the lake) if the chuck comes loose. In addition, it takes the stress off the drill chuck from the weight of the auger.

The StrikeMaster/Eskimo Adapter works with StrikeMaster Mora and Lazer hand augers, and Eskimo Standard and Barracuda hand augers. Please note that newer model Eskimo hand augers may require the pin hole of the Ice Master unit to be enlarged. Two-piece kit.

The Nils USA Adapter works with Nils USA hand augers. This three-piece kit includes a large nut and bolt for use with this make of auger only.

The Ice Master Ice Auger/Power Drill Conversion Kits are made in the U.S.A.

Pros: Easy To Use, Reasonable Price
Best Uses: ICE
Comments: Worked great! Paired with my 5" mora and a quality 18v Li-ion drill this thing burns through ice! Last trip out I was punching holes in 13" of ice with ease. I bet it would work even better with a 6" lazer or nils.

Works as designed
Pros: Simple design, well made, fits my auger, innovative auger retention system
Best Uses: Ice Fishing
Comments: I bought this to use when fishing on a nearby lake where gas augers are not permitted. Typically, I like to quickly get several holes drilled for the kids so that they have something to keep them occupied while I get the shelter set up etc. I use it with an 18V DeWalt NiCad drill. What I found was this: On cooler days (-15 to -25 degrees Celsius) I have extremely poor performance with my batteries. Lithium ion batteries would perform better. If I could somehow keep the packs warm, this would likely help too. I am using an 8" auger (we have BIG fish up here). Surprisingly, it works. However, because of the cold-weather limitation of my drill batteries, I'll be lucky to get one hole out of a battery charge. Also, this is drilling through over two and-a-half feet of ice. One of the keys is keeping my blades sharp, and letting the auger do the work. Overall, a great product. I'm looking forward to using it with a beefier drill when my current drill gives up the ghost!

 HANDY PRODUCT
Pros: Fits like a glove, Easy to use
Comments: The product itself works great so as far as the rating goes it gets a 5 fish/star rating. Matched up to my auger beautifully. I skimped on the auger and it tended to wallow a hole rather than cut a nice clean one which I could do better by hand. Going slow and not putting too much pressure is definitely the way to go as others have advised as well. I've seen several others try to mimic this product with homemade versions and it causes a lot of grief. Spend the $25 bucks and you won't have to worry about it, especially when it's cold and sometimes uncomfortable on the ice. Just one less thing to deal with.

 great price,shipping,and speed!
Pros: Easy To Use, Functional, Lightweight
Cons: Poor Design
Comments: Nice unit, works good compact, light weight although it could be a bit longer so one could get their hand on the chuck to tighten, just make sure your tightened on the flats and keep the elastic over the drill!
 Excellent auger adapter
Pros: Lightweight
Comments: This auger adapter is well made and seems very true in alignment when drilling. It has a well thought out safety device if your auger should slip out of drill chuck. Some others have a metal rod or metal disc which rotates with auger. It might cause one a injury

 great product
Pros: all of the above
Comments: I ordered on Wednesday had it in time to fish on sat. Thanks Fish U.S.A. for the prompt delivery. The product worked flawlessly. I have a 6 inch Laser auger drilled about twenty holes in eighteen inches of ice and still had plenty of power for more. Two batteries 18 volt lithium Hitachi gun. Seen other ideas of this and this is by far the best (bungee strap is a good idea. Read other reviews only complaints I read were people when apparently did not read or don't know how to follow instructions. First dealings with Fish U.S.A. very happy. Somewhere in Michigan

 great
Pros: Works great every time, easy to carry
Comments: This product eliminates a whole lot of weight from the gear I take out on the ice. This year we have over 30 inches of ice with constant fluffy snow on top. Hauling a gas auger would not be fun. This adapter is simple and functional without any apparent downside.

 A must have!
Pros: Easy To Use, Lightweight
Cons: Poor Design
Comments: I have used nils augers for years now. This is just the ticket for my aging arms. A perfect fit for my drills. The only downfall is the drill guard should be bigger than the hole in case the auger comes loose from the drill.

 Get a big drill
Pros: Easy To Use, Easy To Use
Cons: Need a powerful drill
Best Uses: DRILLING HOLES IN ICE
Comments: I used this for the first time this winter (late season) through about 20-26 inches of ice. It worked ok with a 20v drill, but I can only get about 5-7 holes out of each battery. I think it would be great for about 10-12 inches of ice, but late ice is a bit tough for it. Also, make sure your drill chuck is tight and your blades are sharp. Don't lean on the drill and try to make it go the same pace as you would a hand auger unless you have a pretty beastly drill. Overall a good buy!

Comments: I wish I would of bought this years ago. No problems cutting through 3 feet of ice. Only thing is the stronger the drill the longer it will last, they werent kidding when they said 18V or greater. I would suggest this to anyone that wants an affortable, quick way to cut a hole.

Comments: Read reviews on adapters before and was hoping I'd get the right one. I did and I'm Happy. Fits like a glove. The stretch cord for securing the drill to the adapter is different than what I expected, but will work fine. What I really like is that it will work on any size.

 more power!
Pros: Functional
Best Uses: Ice Fishing
Comments: i bought this adaptor because i had a hand auger, but it seemed to take too long to drill holes by hand. I saw some videos on Youtube using cordless drills to cut holes in the ice, and this seemed like a good idea. I have an 18 volt cordless drill and a couple batteries. why not? The adaptor showed up in the mail. it wouldn't fit inside the auger. I took some sand paper, and sanded it til it fit in. the holes didn't line up, and i couldn't get the bolt in. so i drilled out the holes in the adaptor a tiny bit, and it fit perfectly. so, i took it to the lake the next weekend. connected my electric drill to the auger and started drilling. i was all smiles for the first 6 inches, but then the battery died. i put in the other battery, got another inch, and it died. i took off the adaptor, put the handle back on, and finished the day drilling holes by hand. the bottom line for me is this: The product worked fine! but i don't own a power drill strong enough to drive my 6 inch auger blade through 18 inches of ice. at that point, my choice was to go out and buy an expensive cordless power drill to drive my auger, or simply buy a gas powered auger. a local store was having a close-out sale on Eskimo power augers, and I picked one up for less than a new heavy-duty 24 volt cordless electric drill. I went fishing with 2 friends at an ice fishing derby. I cut about 30 holes over 2 days for the 3 of us in 18 inches of ice without any problems at all. If you already have a really powerful, heavy-duty 24 volt cordless drill and a couple batteries in good condition, i think this product is a great idea. but if you are planning on drilling lots of holes for you and friends in thick ice over several days, a gas-powered auger is probably the way to go.

Ice Master Ice Auger-Power Drill KIT!
Pros: Light-weight, Durable, Easy To Maintain, Easy To Use, Uses a Cordless Drill, Functional
Best Uses: Ice Fishing
Comments: Hey folks out there! Want a good light weight attachment for ice fishing (rather than a ice auger that uses Natual Resources such as OIL, get yourself one of this attachments for your 18V to 24V cordless drills)! Easy to use, I used it on a 18V Dewalt XRP drill "make sure you have a handle attachment to hold it on your drill", and I also used a lazer 6" auger I picked off [...] cheaP! Bring a couple of batteries, I figured 18 holes per battery at 15" holes.. Technology just keeps getting better for us "not-so'old" guys out there!

Comments: I'd seen this used by others, but only with 4" augers. I thought for the price, what do I have to lose. I tried it out last weekend with good results using my 6" Strike Master hand auger. I had to turn my 18v Milwaukee to low gear. It zipped through 12" of ice with new blades on the auger.I didn't get a chance to see how many holes I could drill with one battery, but I would guess about a dozen.

Comments: Was skeptical at first, but it works. I just hope it holds up over time. I was going to purchase a gas power auger then I heard about this. This product saved me several hundred dollars. Didn't Work for Me

Comments: I bought this one for a friend, he's lost two augers thru the ice with his adapter with no strap. This is where the retainer strap makes this product really, realy good. I've been using mine for a year now and besides for a little wobble its been good. Still getting (10) five inch holes with one 9.6v battery thru 10+" of ice. I previosuly gave this product so, so review but have warmed up to it.

 Ice Master conversion kit
Pros: Easy To Use
Comments: Works best with a six inch auger. The seven inch lazer was too much for a 19.2 volt drill, but worked effortlessly with a six inch drill and 18 inches of ice. I could not get one hole drilled with the seven inch auger, but the ice was 26 inches deep. Would work OK in ten inches or less.

 Love It.
Pros: It fits my auger perfect., Easy To Use
Best Uses: Fresh Water
Comments: One 18volt battery lasts on average thru 15 holes in 8 to 10 inch ice. That's more than I usually need for a days fishing. I immediately recommended it to a friend. Now we both have one!

Product works but set realistic goals
Pros: Easy To Use
Best Uses: Traveling, Fresh Water
Comments: I used this in Three Lakes WI this weekend 2/23/08. I have a 18v QuatroPro (Black & Decker) heavy duty drill with 2 batteries. It took basically one battery to drill through 15 inches of ice. So I basically drilled 2 holes. So is that good or bad? I would say the product does what it claims to, but set some realistic expectations. For me personally this will work great early in the season, I should be able to drill 4 holes that are 8 inches deep. As the season progresses I might have to start the holes manually and the finish them with the drill. Either way the limitation is the drill, not the product. If you can plug in a drill to a snowmobile or truck then its would work better.

 Could be better
Pros: Lightweight, Retainer strap
Cons: Wobbles poor machining
Best Uses: Hard water fishing
Comments: This product did not meet to my satisfaction due to a small wobble in the adapter. The machining to make flat spots in the rod (to hold it in the drill bit) is not precise, e.g. some of the flats are bigger than others or not cut at exact angles. The rod that goes into the bit is short and would probably work better if it was longer. I have a ½ inch drill and there is room for a longer bit. The adapter is short which makes it good for transporting but a longer adapter would allow for easier / dry drilling through thick ice. I do like the retainer strap that holds the adapter from falling through the ice and will continue to use this adapter for just this reason. I have also used other adapters that were longer but does not come with a device to prevent the auger and adapter to go through the ice. All and all I give the ice master a 3/5 stars.

 Like having a power auger
Pros: Easy to use
Best Uses: Ice fishing
Comments: This device worked great attached to a StrikeMaster Lazer Hand Auger. I happen to have an 18V Heavy Duty Cordless drill and it sliced through the ice with ease. I got about 12 holes on a single charge which was plenty. I had a spare battery pack and my charger and besides, worst case scenario I just use the hand auger!

Ice Master Electric Drill Conversion Kit
Pros: Durable, Versatile, Lightweight
Best Uses: Ice fishing
Comments: I'm on crutches...drilling a hole with a conventional auger is a pain...this makes it fast and easy...one battery lasts about a dozen holes on my 14.5 volt system. The retaining strap takes the worry out of loosing your auger too! My buddies all saw me use this and now they want one to.
