 good cheap hippers
Pros: cheap, durable
Cons: none for price
Comments: Use them for hiking to access small rivers and streams. Good protection from thorns. Bootfoot lasted over a year from leaking with extensive hiking.

 Frogg Togg Breathable Hippers
Best Uses: Small Stream and hot weather
Comments: Hi Folks, These Hippers are well made with some handy extras like gravel guards and adjustable belt loops. The neoprene feet are a little large for my feet, but they fit OK. I'd advise you to buy as the price is good as is the quality. Jay

 Frogg Toggs "Rana"
Pros: Gravel Guards, Tough Material
Cons: don't know yet
Best Uses: Uhm... fishing?
Comments: I like these alot better than the Cabela's one's I used to buy. I went through probably a pair a year... these are tougher, fit better , have a better "sock" and the gravel guards are a GREAT bonus the Cabela's one's don't have!

frogg toggs rana breathable stockingfoot hip waders
Pros: Quality and workmanship seems to be good.
Best Uses: small stream wading
Comments: I paid attention to previous reviews and ordered a size larger than usual and had none of the problems mentioned about getting them on or off. Additionally, the first pair aI was sent arrived 2 days after I ordered it and leaked the first time I wore them. I emailed Fishusa and asked what to do on a Thursday night at about 5:30, had an email response at ;15 that night telling me they would be in contact with me Friday morning to take care of the problem. I had a voice mail at 9:13 a.m. telling me another pair had been sent and asking me to return the first pair using an enclosed return shippn\ing label, and an email at 9:16 a.m. stating the same thing. Thenew waders arrived by USPS priority mail - as had the first pair - on Tuesday, with the Memorial Day Holiday a non-delivery day on Monday. The boots have been great and I'm nt sure I've ever had better service on anything I've ordered via the internet.

 Frogg Toggs Rana Hip Waders

Comments: Lightweight and comfortable. Used them to fish a small river in the Rockies at 9K feet and my feet never got cold. I take a size 7.5 shoe and the medium size wader fit perfect.

Best Uses: Surf fishing or fishing in a river
Comments: These waders worked great when I went surf fishing. I wore a pair of waterproof sandals over the booties and it worked well. Great investment.

 Stocking foot hip waders
Pros: Light and packable
Cons: foot too big.
Best Uses: Intermitently for stream and creek crossing
Comments: Quality good, rock gards fit very well not too tight as other reviews had stated. I wear a 15 and ordered the 2xl, foot size is big so may be some issue if I wear them all day. Will be taking them to Alaska for a Cariboo hunt in September, That will be the real test.

 Sizes
Pros: Quality and workmanship seems to be good.
Cons: Sizing needs work on
Best Uses: Freshwater Fishing
Comments: Ordered size large, I'm 5'11" 180lb. Inseam is a little long by a couple of inches, but not a big problem. On the other hand, the feet are too small for a "large" size product (my foot is 10 1/2 shoe size). It will be difficult to wear these waders over thicker socks.

 Surprisingly Good
Pros: Dries Quickly, Easy To Take On And Off, Somewhat Breathable
Best Uses: Fly Fishing
Comments: I bought the Frogg Togg Rana hip waders for use at my cabin, where the water level is low (deepest just over knees) and I wanted ones that were easy on/off and dried quickly. The Rana wader fit the bill. I am pleased with their quality - the neoprene feet, gravel guard and uppers are all very well done and of good material. Much better than the price would indicate. They are very lightweight and comfortable both in and getting to the river. They are somewhat breathable, but not as good as Simms products - but not bad for the price. They are lightweight and would probably not stand up to much brush busting, though it would be easy to patch them - no patch kit is included. I looked at a bunch of hip waders and tried a few. All the cheap booted waders had boots that were so flimsy they felt like you were barefoot. The Rana lets you use your good boots and get the support you are used to. I'm very pleased with the Rana.

Easy Fix for Gravel Guard
Pros: Dries Quickly, Breathable, Tough Material
Best Uses: Fly Fishing
Comments: AS noted elsewhere the Gravel guard is too tight even when ordering one size up. Fixed the problem by "ripping" the stiching on the elastic for about 4 inches. Sealed the ends of the stiching, and hem, with 'super glue'. I will buy a second pair for my fishing partner (my daughter).

 Too Tight on Design
Cons: Difficult to Take on and Off
Comments: The overall construction feels good for the price. These are definitely thinner than the high dollar chest waders, but appropriate for the intended use. Foot construction is good. As with other reviewers, beware of the ankle sizing. It is a very slim opening, and even once you get your foot through, there is just not enough fabric play to be comfortable, and I do not have very large feet or ankles. The other major issue that needs to be addressed is that even if the waders slipped on and off easily, the gravel guards are built so tight around the ankle that there is no way you could stretch them over a pair of wading boots and laces. Even empty, the gravel guards are hard to pull up and down. If not for this serious design flaw, it looks like it would be a good product.

Pros: Breathable, Tough Material, Dries Quickly
Cons: Gravel Guards, Difficult to Take on and Off
Best Uses: Fly Fishing
Comments: Unfortunately, I had a product that had two different sizes of elastic in the gravel guards. Measured both my feet and near identical. Guard elastic approx 1-1 1/2" smaller on one ankle. Requested solution, to thier credit Fish USA refunded the purchase very quickly. Included Froggs toggs in the original emaail, still no comment from them to date.

Pros: Tighter in ankles, Easy To Take On And Off, Breathable, Tough Material, No excess foot material
Best Uses: Great for smaller females
Comments: Hard to find waders that fit women-these run a little small in the ankles and footie so they are great for me.

 Good Waders after modification
Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Easy To Take On And Off
Best Uses: Fly Fishing
Comments: Nice breathable wader. Gravel guard very restrictive and too small - as warned on website. Cut built-in gravel guard off and used with removable gravel guards and the waders performed just fine.

 Frogg Togg Rana

No thanks unless area of gravel guard is
Cons: Difficult to Take on and Off
Comments: Would probably be a good product if the gravel guard was redesigned. Tightness of the elastic there makes boot extremely difficult to put on and remove. Thought about snipping the elastic but decided not to as that would probably have rendered the guard useless.

Love the Waders HATE the Gravel Guards!
Pros: Breathable
Cons: Difficult to Take on and Off
Best Uses: Fly Fishing
Comments: These hip waders are great except for the gravel guards. The guards are WAY to small, so small I cut the elastic in half after the first use. I am a woman and had first ordered size medium, which fitted great in the hips but the gravel guards were impossibly small, so I sent them back and ordered size large and sill they were so uncomfortable I ended up cutting the elastic[...]Even after cutting the elastic on the gravel guards they are still difficult to get off.

Happy with them to this point
Pros: Easy To Take On And Off, Dries Quickly, Breathable
Best Uses: Fly Fishing
Comments: Very happy with the overall product. I'm a little rough on waders, so reinforced knees would be helpful for me. Otherwise, I think they are a good value.

 Great hip waders
Pros: Tough Material, Dries Quickly, Breathable
Best Uses: Freshwater Fishing, Fly Fishing
Comments: I fish smaller streams so hip waders work well for me. These are great waders and the price is right. I like the stockingfoot because you can choose the type boot you want to wear.

 Rana Hip Waders
Pros: Breathable, Tough Material, Easy To Take On And Off
Best Uses: Fly Fishing, Freshwater Fishing, Cold Water
Comments: This is my first pair of hip waders and I'm glad I chose the Frogg Toggs. As others have noted elsewhere on the 'net, they do fit snug in the ankle area, but I like that as I have skinny legs. Considering, then, how snugly the ankles are, I don't know why the tops are disproportionately huge. That in itself isn't a problem, but there are no cinching straps (or even simple snaps) for the tops other than the straps to hold them up. They are breathable, but not AS breathable as my regular chest waders (which are actually budget waders under $100). My first trip in them was two weeks ago, and the waders collected condensate even though it was only 28*F out. The material is very tough--almost rubbery feeling--and I foresee no problems with durability. I like them because they force me to stop wading too deep (I think many people wade way deeper than necessary just because it's fun) and they'll be much cooler in warmer weather than waist-high or chest-high waders. Overall, I'm very happy with them.

Pros: Easy To Take On And Off, Good Footing, Dries Quickly
Best Uses: Freshwater Fishing, Saltwater Fishing, Fly Fishing
Comments: easy on off. very light and comfortable. Would like to have seen reinforced knees as I use them for surf fishing and often kneel in the sand. Only used them twice so far and they work just fine. Good value for the price.

 Great value
Pros: Dries Quickly, Breathable
Cons: Tight at the ankles
Best Uses: Fly Fishing
Comments: The size is right but a little tight around the ankles. If you have large ankles order the next size up. They dry fast and feel very durable. Can't beat the price.

 Pretty good but not excellent
Pros: Breathable, Easy To Take On And Off, Dries Quickly
Cons: Poor stitching
Best Uses: Freshwater Fishing
Comments: I bought these because they seemed cooler than chest waders for the warm weather. The sizing seems to be a little small (I wear size 9 shoes and got size Medium) and my feet had difficulty getting around the ankle in the bootie. I like them pretty well but the clip to keep the gravel guards down fell off on my right wader even though I had only had them about two weeks. So far no leaks and other than the clip falling off because of the stitching, they seem okay.
