The Frabill Ice Spider Tip-Up is the ideal tip-up to use when the fish are on the move, and you need to follow. The Ice Spider features an extra durable molded base design, with dual trip settings, perfect for any species of game fish. The spool shaft is pre-lubed with Sub-Zero low-temp lubricant for smooth operation in the coldest of temperatures. The shaft in shaft design allows for re-greasing. The spool sets low in the hole away from the refreezing skim ice. This tip-up has a foot print measuring 1712 inches long and 318 inches wide.

 Spider tip ups are ok
Pros: easy to use and small profile
Cons: need better quality control
Best Uses: ice fishing
Comments: I bought 3 Ice Spiders to try and one had a slightly bent shaft right where the reel is bolted on. It had a bad tight spot when it would spin. I was not dealing with the shipping back and praying the next one was better. I just sanded the shaft down enough to where it spun freely. I can see it was bent this way while it was originally chucked up and the threads were cut in. There was a divit and a raised spot from the tools used to hold the shaft. This would catch the spool while it spun and stop it. It is like anything else for ice fishing any more you need to check and tune it before using. Imported junk as always. They need better quality control or just don't care. They seem to work nicely and simple set up. Have not tested on bigger fish yet to really test them. I will have to wait for next year I guess.

Great Tip Up
Pros: Compact, Light Weight
Cons: Small Spool
Best Uses: Pike, Walleye
Comments: If you're looking at a great, compact tip up for fishing Pike and Walleye, look no further. If you need something with a bigger spool for fishing Lake Trout, you'd better get a more traditional larger tip up.
