Pros: Smooth Retrieve, Nice Drag, Nice Handle
Cons: Bail mechanism
Best Uses: Freshwater
Comments: I found this reel on clearance for $27 at a local store. I needed a new spinning reel and I went ahead and grabbed it. I have used it for over half a year and I am impressed with the overall performance. The reel retrieves smoothly, has a decent drag setting with clicks, and it casts well. The only complaint I have with this reel is the fact that the bail has closed on me while making long casts. It doesn't happen all the time but I have lost one or two jigs while on the water. If Daiwa would make the bail spring just a bit weaker, I am sure I wouldn't have this issue. Overall, I think even at $39, this is a good reel for the money.
