Description

The Amish Outfitters Buggy Bag drift anchors (or "trolling sock") slow the boat's drift rate while trolling.

We stock the Buggy Bags in three sizes - 18", 22" and 28" (this is the open diameter size of the bag). The 18" bag is designed for boats from 14 to 18 feet in length, the 22" bag is designed for boats from 14 to 24 feet in length, and the 28" bag is designed for boats from 24 to 30 feet in length. Two bags, one on each corner of the boat, can be used to help with steering.

Amish Outfitters Buggy Bag Drift Anchors are Amish made in the USA.

Trolling bag use on Lake Erie Walleye
Pros: Well constructed, Easy To Use
Comments: Heavy weight materials, construction, stitching, straps. Very pleased , helps slow troll for large fishing boat down to 1.5 MPH using two bags in 2 foot following seas Much more cost effective than purchase/installation of kicker motor.

Sturdy functional bag
Pros: Easy To Use, Quality Construction
Best Uses: Small Boats
Comments: I've used two of these bags heavily for a season and they have held up well. I don't believe that boat size is particularly relevant to the size of the bag. The engine size, and drive efficiency has much more to do with the size bag required. My 24 ft boat without the bags had a minimum speed of just over 4 MPH. With 1 24ft size bag on each side of the boat, I have a minimum speed of 2.5 MPH. Not quite as slow as I would like. If in doubt go larger.

Fair/Poor
Pros: Easy To Install
Cons: Poor Design
Best Uses: Small Boats
Comments: Product didnt last me the season and the size recommended for my boat didnt slow me down enough, so make sure you get a large enough bag for your boat size. The stitching needs better thread, or a better design. It works ok for most part i wouldnt recommend or not recommend. I should have done my homework better.

nothing special
Cons: Poor Design
Best Uses: Large Boats
Comments: The stitching at the top of the bag came apart after the second use. This brand came highly recommended, but doesn't do anything my minn kota bag doesn't do. Save your money.
