Practical jigging rods
Pros: Good Tip Action, Good value, Excellent balance, Easy To Transport, Durable, Easy to de-ice, Strong tight handle, Flexible, Good guide placement
Cons: Guides slightly too large, Only average sensitivity
Best Uses: Jigging with lures, Ice Fishing
Comments: I use the 24" UL and the 28" ML to jig spoons and other lures through the ice for panfish and perch. The UL seems right for 1-4# mono and 1/32-1/8 oz presentations; the ML seems good for 2-6# and 1/16-1/4 oz. I think these rods are better for "power" than for "finesse". They're built strong, with medium actions and only 3 oversized guides, which increases usability out in the wind and cold but also decreases sensitivity. However, these rods balance perfectly to horizontal above the center of the reel foot! This makes sensing the weight changes of subtle bites much easier for me than with the usual tip-heavy jigging sticks. I also detect many bites with these rods by seeing tip movement and by feeling the strikes, so the sensitivity really isn't too bad. I don't use spring bobbers, but you could easily attach one if you wanted.

Great rod for the price
Pros: Flexible, Durable, Sensitive, Good Tip Action, Easy To Transport
Cons: None yet
Best Uses: Small Fish, Ice fishing
Comments: I like to pack everything away securely, and being able to take the reel off quickly is very nice. You don't have to worry about it loosening up or electrical tape coming off while using it. I have Frabills, HTs, StCroixs, JigAWhoppers, but these Berkleys are my favorites for perch, crappie, and gills. I wish they made light and medium in 24".
