Excellent product but fix your container!!
Pros: Looks Realistic, Easier than live bait, Good For Variety Of Fish, Less gear to carry
Cons: Container leaks
Best Uses: Jigging
Comments: I have been fishing all my life and have thousands of dollars worth of crank baits etc... I live in SW Missouri and fish Table Rock on a regular basis. I started using gulp alive minnows about 2 years ago, and have hardly touched any other bait since then. It's not uncommon for me to catch crappie, bass, walleye in the same day with the same minnow. 3" or 4" black shad, emerald shiner, smelt have all worked incredibly well for me. I also travel to northern Minn several times a year and outfish my competition on a regular basis. Walleye, Pike, Bass (small and large mouth) and even perch love these minnows. I think it's great that these are biodegradable, so there is less harm to fish and the environment. All this being said, the container they come in really suck! At roughly $20 a container surely Berkley can find a container that doesn't leak. This is why I gave this review a 4 instead of a 5. I now buy them and store them in my own leak-free container. I'm a huge sceptic when someone tells me, "this really works" or gimmiky stuff in general. These really "do" work and if you have kids, they "will" catch more fish. 3 weeks ago I was fishing a lake in SE Kansas and caught 5 large mouth, the smallest 5lbs, biggest 9lbs. Oh, and that was in the first hour and a half with scattered crappie between the bass. Winter fishing is "so" over looked! As for the jig heads, I have found that the short shank hooks work better. 1/16 or 1/8 is my preference of size. Makes for good descent speed, adjust to windy conditions.

 I love this product
Pros: Strong, Easy To Store, Irresistible to Fish, Looks Realistic, Easy To Handle, Good For Variety Of Fish
Best Uses: Jigging, Ice Fishing, Shore Casting, Trolling
Comments: Myself and my family just got back from a fishing trip to the Lake of the woods in canada. This bait works excellent casting or jigging for small month bass and on walleys. My son out fished all orthers not using this bait in the boat. Would strongly recommend this bait. I do wish the pail had a better seal for leakage. DEK from Kansas

Saltwater fish love this one!
Pros: Easy To Handle, Looks Realistic, Strong, Good For Variety Of Fish
Best Uses: Jigging, Salt Water
Comments: Of all the Gulp products, this is a favorite of many saltwater fish. Looks real, can be used jigging or on a leader. I use the 'pearl' color. It's convienent when I don't have/or want to deal with cut bait. These can also be cut to look like traditional cut-up bait.

Gulp Alive Minnow / Leeches Longevity
Cons: Poor Construction, Difficult to Handle
Best Uses: Jigging, Shore Casting
Comments: I have bought Gulp alive when packets were first available and had very good success, I have then puchused the Gulp Alive in Bulk containers ( 5 to be exact ), The gulp has dis-colored and became very stiff and hard to put on jigs, When fresh it live up to the claims, however I have stored them in the recommended conditions to included the gulp bag carrying case and with in 1 year the Gulp was very hard and stiff, even the unopened container in with I had two bulb containers. My advise is to buy only bags.

"Nothing better for Mackinaw"
Pros: Irresistible to Fish, Good For Variety Of Fish, Looks Realistic
Cons: Messy, Zip on storage bag shawdy
Best Uses: Deep Water, Jigging, Fresh Water
Comments: This is the best bait for drop shotting mackinaw I have ever used. I tried it on bass, it performed excellent there too. However, the bass tore this little minnow up a bit fast for my blood. It was great for catching though.

 Berkley Gulp Alive! 3" Minnow
Pros: Good For Variety Of Fish, Looks Realistic, Irresistible to Fish, Tail don't curl up, Easy To Handle
Cons: Product must be kept wet, Container may leak
Best Uses: Fresh Water, Drop Shotting, Deep Water
Comments: I use this product mainly for dropshotting deep water fish. This new version of Gulp is superior to the previous Gulp product. The tail on the minnow won't bend on you due to packaging and it seems softer also. My only complain is the containter that it comes with. If you don't store it correctly, you'll have Gulp juice all over your carpet or locker. To solve that problem, I went out and bought a small leak proof container.

 Berkley Gulp! Alive! 3
Pros: Looks Realistic, Good For Variety Of Fish
Cons: Container leaks
Best Uses: Fresh Water
Comments: I bought two quart containers of Gulp minnows in 3" and 4". Both containers leaked Gulp scent all over the storage compartment in my boat. Berkley needs to develop a leak-proof container for these baits.
