Best on the market (from prior model)
Pros: reef resistant
Best Uses: reef fishing
Comments: I've been using this line for years. My fishing adventures target the Giant Trevally in Indonesia and we fish on the reef. I've tried them all but the fireline original fused line is the most resistant on rocks and coral reef. A bit thicker than all the new age braids but it wont let you down. I reccommend it to all my clients. I only wish they still made it in the 50 pound test. Thank you Berkley !! Michael Owen www.jungleulua.com

Best Uses: Fresh Water, River Fishing
Comments: I have been using this line for 3 years now and I love it. Never have problems with line break and it lands big fish. Tying knots is easy and the knots stay strong all day on the river. Would recommend this for any kind of fishing.

Multi Purpose Usage (from prior model)
Comments: I don't use Berkley FireLine for Fishing, I am sure it is excelllent for this purpose, I use it to string beads for jewellery making. I find it the best. It is strong, resilient, doesn't fray, smooth and thin enough to go through the smallest of beads, keeps its shape. Love it.

 Berkley Fireline (from prior model)
Comments: I am certain this will be an unexpected review as i do not fish. In fact, I make jewelry and use nothing but Berkley Fireline--mostly 6 lb. test--in Smoke or Crystal. It is the best. No knotting, twisting or fraying. For bead weaving or embroidery, these qualities are extremely important. So, for all you new beaders out there, try Fireline. You won't be sorry.

"This Fireline isn't just for fishing!" (from prior model)
Pros: Easy To Handle, Blends in for beading, Looks Realistic, Strong
Best Uses: Great stringing medium
Comments: I needed to wind 10 yd bundles for 300 kits for a beading project. Fireline, 4lb. test was very easy to use without tangling! The product made the job easy and it has proven to be a great stringing medium for beading as the Crystal blends right in with the beads. Delicate in appearance yet strong enough for the wear of jewelry. Great product!

Great for beading! (from prior model)
Pros: Fits small beading needle, Strong, Easy To Handle
Best Uses: Beaded Jewelry
Comments: I discovered Fireline mentioned in beading forums and once I tried it, I could never go back to traditional beading wire or nylon thread. Its strong yet fine, you can make several passes through the smallest bead. It fits through the eye of size 12 or 13 beading needles so you can make beautiful creations with ease. I love Fireline!

Pros: Easy To Handle, No memory, Easy To Store, Strong
Comments: I use Crystal Fireline for off loom bead weaving. I do 3-D sculpture, jewelery, and strange objects. Because of its thin diameter I'm able to make many passes through the beads. Its strength is incredible and the flexibility allows me to make art that will last for a long time.

Berkley Fireline Fused Crystal (from prior model)
Pros: Easy To Handle, Strong
Comments: I use the fireline for many beaded items and would be devastated if it's every discontinued or even changed. My favorite weight is 8# for most items, but I also use the 4#, 6# and 10# weights.

 Never again! (from prior model)
Pros: Strong
Cons: Difficult to Handle, Messy
Best Uses: My wife's bead weaving
Comments: I bought this line after hearing so many good comments about how great it was. On a spinning reel it requires a backer of mono so it does not slip on the reel (found that out the hard way). After the first couple of uses, the smoke coloring starts comping off. Don't get me wrong, its strong enough alright and I am sure that their are folks who would swear by it. I used it once pulled it off my reel and gave it to my wife for her bead weaving. IMHO its not good for much else.

Strong and sensitive. (from prior model)
Pros: Strong
Cons: Difficult to Handle
Best Uses: Trolling
Comments: I loved the strength and the sensitivity. It casts pretty well also. What I didn't like was that it was harder to handle and stiffer than the flourocarbon I normally use. It was a tradeoff, I liked the extra sensitivity, but didn't like how it handled. Eventually handling won out. I went back to floroucarbon.

Good for spinnfishing in fordable water (from prior model)
Pros: Easy To Handle, Good For Variety Of Fish
Best Uses: Fresh Water
Comments: I need the line in Switzerland for trout fishing in fordable water. The line is swimming ( when it is not too mutch wet) I use this line every time whit e 0.14mm leader, the fish can't see this. Also nice too catch trout till 60cm. I fish with this line in very small rivers near France. It is most suitable in foul water.

This is perfect for beadwork (from prior model)
Pros: Easy To Store, Easy To Handle, Strong
Cons: no complaints
Comments: I use Fireline for beading and jewelry making; it is perfect since I can use it with crystals and the thread does not break, whereas other threads get cut off when using crystals. Thousands of beaders have discovered this and it happens to be our favorite thread for beading to many of us.

Pros: Good for beading, Easy To Handle, Strong, Easy To Store
Comments: I use Fireline for creating beaded jewelry. It's strength resists cutting from sharp crystals and is easy to thread and manipulate. It is also almost invisible and makes a more durable piece that other beading threads. I like all of the different test weights and the versatility.

4 lb test is garbage (from prior model)
Pros: 6lb test higher is OK
Cons: Poor Construction, Fish Get Away, Breaks under minimal load
Best Uses: Deep Water, Fresh Water
Comments: The 6 lb and above I've used in the past without issue and it has great sensitivity for deep jigging application however I bought 2 300 yard spools of the 4 lb test and the strands have come apart in many different places it breaks with minimal pressure applied ..... Now I have 6 rods / reels with garbage on them and I am NOT a happy camper. Charter season is beginning and I don't have time for this . Hope that helps you stick with atleast 6 lb test or higher .

Pros: Easy To Handle, Strong
Cons: Limited Use
Comments: I use Berkley Fireline for weaving beads so my review will not be of interest to fishermen. I create my warps with Berkley Fireline, both Crystal and Smoke, 4 lb. test. I love it because it is strong but does not stretch. [@]

This is my favorite wire for beading. (from prior model)
Pros: Strong, Easy To Store, Easy To Handle
Comments: Another beader told me about fireline and gave me some to try. I have used many different beading threads and fireline outperforms them all. I use the crystal the most often. It is strong, ties well, stays flexible even when going through the beads several times and does not stretch out of shape once the beading is finished. I am a fan.

Panfish

Best Line I've Ever Used (from prior model)
Pros: Extremely Sensitive, Almost No Memory, Strong
Cons: No cons
Best Uses: Deep Water Jigging
Comments: I'm a deep water panfish angler and when the fish are deep and the bite is slow, sensitivity is extremely important and the 1 lb Crystal allows me to feel everything that's going on down there. I'm also impressed with the low memory as I use small ultra light reels which can be a nightmare when using even the best monofilament line. No line problems with this line.

perfect for beading (from prior model)

Best for Beading Austrian Crystals (from prior model)
Pros: Easy To Handle, Easy To Store
Comments: Fireline 6# test is the best for beading bracelets and necklaces, it is strong, yet not hard to work with. In beading with 2 needles, it is great, one thing we miss is the pink Fireline!! We as beaders try to blend the beads with the colored Fireline, and the loss of the pink is awful as it went with so many different colors. The crystal, green and smoke are all good, and we hope to never loose them

 Worked Great! (from prior model)
Pros: Fish Don't Escape
Cons: A little patience is all, Difficult to Handle
Comments: A little difficult to tie your knots, but so worth the extra strength in the woven line versus mono filament. I have used the 2lb. crystal leader with great success & also the 4lb. Flame Green for trout fishing. Whether trolling a lure or just down fishing it's very nice to be able to see your line!

Worst line I have ever used (from prior model)
Cons: Breaks very easily
Best Uses: Trolling, Shore Casting
Comments: My husband and I do alot of trolling for pike and shore casting. We also fish for bass but not so much. We use Trilene products normally and are very happy with them. We watch alot of fishing shows and saw people endorsing Fireline Crystal. We tried it, but will never use it again. It breaks very easily. Twice I had a medium pike on and as soon as it rolled the line broke about 4 feet from my lure. My husband could take the line in his hands and pull and break it. We are very disappointed in this line.

 Very Strong! (from prior model)
Pros: Strong
Comments: The crystal fireline in 4lb test is exactly what I had been looking for, for alpine lake trout fishing. Much stronger than monofilament, you can really pull on it if you snag a lure - yet still clear - (unlike the 10lb test crystal fireline, which is very white.)

Berkley FireLine - Crystal by Berkley (from prior model)
Pros: Easy To Handle, Easy To Store
Cons: No cons
Best Uses: Crafting sorry guys
Comments: I actually use the Fireline for beading, not for fishing. :) I really like it, however -- it's very smooth, doesn't fray when I use glass or crystal beads, and it knots very securely. Maybe some of these comments will look good to fishers!
Gladesman1

The Line Rocks (from prior model)
Best Uses: Fresh Water, Salt Water, Jigging, Shore Casting
Comments: I use this product on my bait casters. It is a little stiffer than power pro and that makes it 100% better for this application. I rarely back lash and the distance is further. I haven't noticed much difference with any color of line I use, but this one dissapears so I just don't have to think about it at all. Knots tie easily and it seems to wear well. I fish for snook, tarpon, reds and largemouth/peacocks in South Florida so it sees some tough use and comes out fine. I have noticed to get the max line on the spool I need to use one line class lighter than I would with Power Pro. It still over tests for the diameter for my application so I am good to go and very happy! I wish it came in other colors besides crystal and smoke as I mix and match my reels for effect.
