Acme Little Cleo Spoons

Description

Acme Little Cleo Spoons are very versatile, taking various species of gamefish around the world. Acme Little Cleo Spoons are available in a wide variety of sizes and colors suitable for use on a variety of gamefish, ranging from trout and panfish to stripers, pike, and muskie. The unique hump-backed shape of the Little Cleo results in a seductive, wiggling action as the lure is drawn through the water. The illusion created is one of a baitfish, acting in an erratic, confused manner. This triggers the predatory nature of the gamefish to strike. This appeal to fish explains Little Cleo's fantastic success as the one lure that takes all gamefish.

Features of Acme Little Cleo Spoons include:

  • 1/16 oz. - used for ultra light spinning or spincasting with 2 - 4 pound test line
  • 1/8 oz. - used for ultra light to light spinning or spincasting with 2 - 4 pound test line

 trout killer
Pros: castability, Great Action
Cons: line twist
Best Uses: casting for trout/salmon
Comments: Simply the most productive trout lure ever. Works on rainbows, browns and brooks for sure. Try plain nickel and plain gold first and then branch out for your specific needs. My tackle box has 30 of these in it right now if it has one. 1/3 oz is my standard trout size.

 They Just Plain Work
Pros: Strong, Irresistible to Fish
Cons: Hooks do need sharpening, Needs larger treble hooks
Best Uses: Steelhead
Comments: I own dozens of these in various colors and sizes and have caught many, many steelhead on them over the past 30 years. I even still have some of the "Wiggle Lures" that had the hula girl etched into the back of the spoon. You old timers know what I'm talking about!!! I do change out the hooks for the next larger size though.

Great lure for Lake Trout and other fish.
Pros: They catch steelhead
Comments: We have used these lures for lake trout in Canada and have had excellent results. We have tried other spoons with little luck. We ran into some friends from our home town that were fishing the same lake and using another brand of spoon. We were on the lake for about an hour and a half and had caught our limit and the only had 1/3 of there limit. Use the little Cleo's and catch fish.

 They Really Work !
Pros: Great Action, These spoons catch fish
Cons: NONE !
Comments: The Little Cleo really does work. I'm an assistant guide in AK. We use the little Cleo's with a single hook due to regulations on the rivers we fish. This little giant of a lure nails Kings & Silvers!

Salmon / Rainbow / Brown / Atlantic slayer
Pros: Durable, strong, catches fish
Cons: I have a pile of other spoons that never get used
Comments: I use these spoons extensively for late fall and early spring salmonoids. They are durable and I have caught a pile of fish on them. When trolling or casting make sure the action on them has a pumping action. If they flip flop back and forth the retrieve is too slow, if it spins it is too fast. A pumping action side to side turns on any fish. I have caught perch, pike, bass, all species of salmon, catfish, carp on these spoons. The fish can't leave them alone. One afternoon over a 1.5 hr stint I landed over 20 spring coho and who knows how many more got off. This is an A1 lure....

 Little Cleo
Pros: easy to use, catches fish.
Cons: No split ring on the front of lure.
Comments: A proven fish catcher for me. Cast out with a medium retrieve. One of my go to lures for trout, seems to catch fish when nothing else will, I keep a good selection of colors in the tackle box.

 Trout and salmon
Pros: Fish fall for them
Comments: I am a bit reluctant to tell you a cleo spoon is a killer for Great Lakes trout and salmon, but it really is no secret. The trout and salmon fall for it every year! They also work well in streams under certain conditions.

Nickel or gold Little Cleos are great.
Comments: I fish Lake Oconee, located in Georgia between Atlanta and Augusta. The Nickel and sometimes the gold Little Cleo 1/3 and 2/5 oz. spoons are my go-to lures when I'm trolling or jigging for White Bass, Hybrids. Sometimes they'll even pick up a largemouth or two. Great lures.

The perfect lure... (from prior model)
Pros: Action, Salmon, Trout, durability, Casting ability
Best Uses: Trout, River, Salmon, Lake, Bass
Comments: I've been an avid Cleo and Kastmaster user for awhile. Both of which have the best action and casting ability. It's currently salmon season here at the Sacramento and Trinity Rivers. When I drift fish with roe and get a snag and lose my setup, I'll switch over to lure fishing for just a bit hoping to catch maybe a nice trout. Today I caught my first King Salmon when I least expected it here in the Trinity River. Since the salmon aren't feeding at the moment, I thought I had a nice trout on the line. Instead, it was a 8lb. 10oz. Chinook that went after my 1/3oz. hammered green and chrome Cleo. It was a pleasant surprise and justified my reasoning as to why this is one of the best lures ever.

A lifelong fishing companion
Pros: Been using them 55 yrs, Strong, Looks Realistic, White bass tear these up, Good For Variety Of Fish, Irresistible to Fish
Best Uses: Trolling, Shore Casting, Crappie bass catfish, Fresh Water
Comments: First used one 55 yrs ago for white bass. Destroyed my little Zebco. I've caught catfish trolling with them and they'll get crappie,(caught a slab yesterday) bream, spot, sea trout, croaker, whiting. Dosen't seem to be a limit to what this lure does. One of my all-time favorites. A dependable standby when nothing else works. And I've only used the solid silver ones!

Pros: Easy To Store, Looks Realistic, Easy To Handle, Irresistible to Fish, Sinks well with braid
Cons: Limited Use, Short casts into wind
Best Uses: Shore Casting, Inlet fishing, Salt Water
Comments: Best used for sight fishing in upper column of water.I use it for little blues in and around Barneget Inlet, N.J. The silver and blue lure looks like local bait. If your on the fish this will produce 9 out of 10 casts. The body of the lure will last but the hooks(easily replaced)could be a litlle better quality.Great lure for the price.Make sure the wind is at your back.

The Steely King
Cleveland, Ohio
 Perfect for steeheads in Ohio
Pros: Good For Variety Of Fish, Fish Don't Escape, Irresistible to Fish, Easy To Handle, Easy To Store
Cons: Looks Fake
Best Uses: Deep Water, Fresh Water, Shore Casting, Trolling
Comments: The Little Cleo Spoons are the best bait that i have found for catching Steelhead in Lake Erie in the late summer and the early fall. Also they work great in deeper sections of rivers. In mid-summer believe it or not they also work great for catching small mouth in the rivers around here. Technique wise what you want to do is make short cast and lift that rod tip as high as you can and bounce the spoon across the top of the water. Believe it or not the smallies come flying out of the water for them. A ery versital bait that I recommend to anyone.
