For the first time salmon, steelhead and bass flyfisher, FishUSA offers this exceptional outfit from Cortland Line Company. Make no mistake about it, the components in this outfit are big and will work well when angling for big, heavy fish like salmon, steelhead and bass. This combo will throw big flies all day and handle wind with ease. The CLX 4 reel offers a good disk drag system with a great range of adjustment.
This combo includes a 9' 0" 8/9 weight, two-piece rod, a Cortland CLX 4 reel, and 150 yards of Micron backing.
The rod features a cork handle and a small fighting butt. The reel, although it bears the Cortland name, appears to be an STH size 4 cassette reel made in Argentina. It has an adjustable disk drag and a removable cassette spool system. This is a large capacity reel; it is 4" in diameter 1 3/4" wide. The fly line is a Cortland overstock weight forward 9 weight line. The color of the line is white. We also include a 150 yard spool of 30 pound test white Micron backing to complete the outfit.
This is a great outfit for someone starting out fly fishing, or as a back-up outfit for the seasoned angler.
