I have not used this rod yet, but based on the performance of my other shimano trolling rod, this one should be the cats meow. The 10.6 seems to really have the spring hook set off the downrigger. Water is still frozen in Montana, but will give a new report this this rod at the soonest.

I have been looking for a good trolling rod for the trout in my lake which avg 2 - 5 lbs. The typical trolling rod is was to heavy for these fish and takes the fun out of it, which is why I wanted to try this kokanee rod. This rod has made the fish fun to catch again and yet is strong enough to land the occasional exceptional fish.

This is a great fihing rod, it has lots of guides to support the line, and the but is not too long when in the boat.If it breaks it will most likley be my fault.

I havent used the rod yet. I was looking for a good rod for the downrigger for ocean salmon trolling. I think it will work but it would be much better if it was a one piece rod instead of the clunky connection between the sections.

Great product with good/stiff backbone. I use this rod for my lead-core applications and it has held up very well.

Did some reading and comparisons on this rod and the Ugly Stik BWDD 11010, 10' Dipsy rod, but wasn't sure of which way to go. [...] Hands down, for a few dollars more, the fact that these rods are covered by Shimano's limited lifetime warranty, and after putting it to work several times on Lake Erie and landing a few lunker walleye, I couldn't have made a better choice and will soon be buying a couple more.
