I use rods on Cannon Down Riggers and they work great for salmon.

Best dipsy rod i have used, using a flasher and fly set-up along with a dipsy the other rods i have made it real hard to bring in any fish of size, but with the Ugly stick I dont get so worn out bringing in a fish or just bringing it in to clean off weeds, it saves energy and time, well made [...]. No need to go any where else, it was the best price online also. Dennis

I purchased this rod for a 400 foot copper setup. It pulls this well off the stern or off a planer board. It really transmits the action so it is easy to see what's happening.

This is an 8'3" downrigger rod. While I like the action, it has several problems: first, the halves are unequal lenght with the tip half being about 10" longer than the butt half. This makes breakdown, storage and transport more difficult and exposes the thin parts to breakage. Second, the rod started to delaminate at the female joint on the first day of use. I like the action and it does work great as a downrigger rod. I also enjoy fighting fish with this rod.

My first (but not last) Ugly Stick downrigging rod. It takes a nice bend and handles fish very well.

This is a nice rod and very well priced. Great value but you need to live with blue and yellow color on the same rod. Must have been designed by a color blind designer.

This is the my absolute favorite trolling rod for lake Superior trout and salmon. The rod I am referring to is the 9foot light action downrigger model, it has lots of flex and power for such a whippy rod and it loads perfectly into the downrigger giving perfect release hooksets along with very good fish handling abilities with its nine foot length.
