I odered this rod on the strength of the Spring Outdoor Life fishing gear trials. 1st trip was to Lake Powell where this rod combined with the Shimano Symetre and 8# test Firewire Fusion outcast all my compadres into the Striped Bass boils. The rod easily handled STriped Bass to 5# and they can really pull, as well as pinpoint casts to structure for Smallies to 20" and even a 21" Walleye. I am completely satisfied, though I am am concerned about transporting a 7' 6" 1 piece to Canada next summer.
