great rood very light and sensative feel everything
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
have not fished it yet but it is better than my other ul rods and costs less
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
While I still think this rod is a good value because the blank and grip are excellent for the price, it is not constructed with even decent guides. The guides have metal(lic) inserts that are not very smooth; my tiptop's insert was actually quite abrasive. Luckily, it fell out and the stainless steel underneath is an improvement. I have purchased an alternative tiptop w/ a ceramic insert to solve the issue.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
Was out fishing today for gills and rod snapped in half. I was jigging beside the boat and i know it sometimes can be stressful on the rod when your jigging, but dont feel it should snap in two pieces on a average sizi gill. I have the 7FT. UL also and no problems so far. Have the ugly stick and they are a really nice pole but would not buy the agility again.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
I troll using this pole with a small crankbait behind it. Tip action while trolling is great, just enough to let you know the bait is working properly.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
Was surprised at the quality of this rod. Smooth comfortable grip, very solid feel, good balance and 9 guides make for a consistent line path and longer casts. Mine is the 7' 2-8 rated.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
the grip is too small in the part that i actually hold, though it gets bigger just behind that. and it isnt as sensitive as one might expect.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
I bought two of these Kokanee rods for my downriggers. They perform flawlessly.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
Strong enough for channel cats and large mouth light enough for pan fish. I CAN FEEL THE LIGHTEST STRIKES.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
Terrific Rod at a value price. I own two of these rods now - a Medium Heavy casting rod for offshore rockfish, and the 7' spinning rod for trout and steelhead. The spinning rod rivals my G-Loomis HotShot rod at 1/6 the cost......And that is no malarkey.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
Very sensative and good hook set. Only con is that it is a 2 piece
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
Ultra light is accurate. You can feel the trout breathe on this puppy. Super sensitive action. Great buy for the price!
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
Will use this for Springtime panfishing.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
The 7'0 medium is a nice rod that is light and sensitive enough for smallmouth but sturdy enough for largemouth fishing in cover. As a spinning rod user 95 percent of the time these rods have taken a beating the last few seasons and have pulled in some large fish. Very nice tip and feel.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
I use it to fish in rivers and lakes
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
While this rod has a few problems...it does not want to stay as one peice...the butt is a little too long for my liking but that is easily corrected. You have to make sure the rod is firmly pushed together or it will come apart as you cast. I would saw off about 3 inches of the butt and find a cap for it and it would be excellent for my fishing purposes....Crappie...Trout...White Bass. The sensitivity is great. The action allows for a good hook set. Some have talked about how this rod breaks easily but I have put this rod through the wringer and I don't see that as an issue. In my opinion this rod is a bargain for the price you pay.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
I had a chance to do some pan fishing with the rod and had a great time, very sensitive, fun fighting the fish.

Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
The IM-8 rods have a very slim profile, so much that looking at them, you wouldn't think they could be strong, but they load and cast like with an unexpected power. Their sensitivity transmitted from the lure to the reel has to be felt to really appreciate. And the proportioned balance is smoothly distributed over the entire length of the rod from strike to fight— YOU always feel in total control, not just hanging on for dear life. Just close your eyes on casts, retrieve, and fight, and you'll see what I mean. You just won't believe what you'll experience. The IM-8 rods are that unbelievable.

I live on a small southern river and this rod is a great for panfish. I have broken 2 of these rods but that just goes with the territory. I already have another spare in waiting!
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:

These are great rods for the money. You will not see rods at this cost with extra guides and quality cork handles. A lot of bang for the buck and I will buy more.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
Since my last Agility IM-8 review, I took advantage of a FishUSA weekly sale and picked up the two piece 5' ultra light rod. Perfect with a small Pflueger ultra light Trion or President reel. Broken down, the whole package is very light and 2 1/2' so I always have it in the car with me. I keep a couple of 1/16 Rooster Tails and 1/12 Kastmasters in the glove box so I'm ready to play whenever the opportunity presents itself.
In the short time I've had the rod I've only fished for small bass and gills with it but it doesn't take a monster to put a good bend in it. You can't go wrong for the money.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
I use the 7' medium actions for trolling and can feel every bump or instantly know you picked up the slightest weed. I have about 8 rods in this product line and love each one.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
In using down riggers for big trout and browns, we use just bare lures so ultra light is the way we fish, so having a long rod, that is limber enough to put a big bend in to help take up the slack when a fish hits, but with enough backbone to still set the hook, this rod works perfectly. It has more guides then the normal rod and the cost makes it a great deal for the quality! I have bought two and bought one for my buddy so he will quit using mine!!!

This rod is well constructed

Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
I wade rocky midwest streams in search of bronzebacks. The 7' two piece medium action Agility fits the bill perfectly for my uses. Stiff enough for bottom bouncing jigs in current but sensitive enough to detect subtle mouthing.
These rods are a great bang for the buck. My two 7-footers have NINE line guides (counting the tip) made of stainless steel and titanium. I challenge you to walk through any big box store and count the guides on any similar priced rods. The cork handles are comfortable and apparently durable, as mine have not chipped at all. These rods are light enough to carry for hours. My spinning outfit is very well balanced. And it's IM-8 graphite. It's a nice piece for the money.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
the rod combo is both efficient and effective.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
I really like these rods. They are an excellent value. I have much more expensive rods and these compare to rods of more than twice the price. The 7' ultra lite is awesome except for the handle being about 3" too long. I cut off the 3" and put a new butt cap on and it works great.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
Great quality for the price. It is equal to much more expensive rods. I do a lot of bass fishing with this. Better than an ugly stick.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
I used this rod over the weekend drift fishing in Lake Erie; the Walleye didn't cooperate but I did catch a 6# Sheephead that really tested the rod. Great action and durability, no problems.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
Medium wt rod that feels like a medium lite.
Sensitive for a two piece rod.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
You will not find many IM8 rods for this low price. It is sensitive for a two piece rod. This medium rod feels like most medium lite rods which I love about it.

Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
I bought my first Ugkly Stik in 1980, while on leave from the Military, to go fishing with my Dad. I have used this one rod until my two boys were big enough to start "borrowing" it. I bought them and myself some cheaper rods and started getting a collection of broken rod. So when I went to replace 5 broken rods, I looked at the rod I have used for over 28 years and said to myself, "I am only going to buy Ugly Stiks".
Thank you very much Shakespeare, for the fine rods. I am not buying any other.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
Nice Rod. First time in use caught about 6 bass with it, largest being about 4 or 5 pounds and handled it like nothing.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
I purchased a 7foot ultra light and it is an excellent rod for trout and crappies

Great feeling rod at a modest price. The 2 piece design allows for easy transportation.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
I bought this rod primarily for trout and panfish. I used it already for trout and loved it. I bought 2 already and now will be ordering another one for my son. He tried it and loved the action as well.

Great large stream tout rod
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
I bought three or four of these rods in various actions and lengths almost a year ago. I've used them for everything from panfish all the way up to redfish and snook. I think these are one of the best values out there. There pretty sensitive and have a very good action with no flat spots. They are very durable and I will probably buy more.
Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Spinning Rods:
I use my IM-8 for Salmon fishing at Lake Erie and trout fishing in the local creeks. It's a very tough and versatile rod.
