I bought this rod to use as an all around bass rod. At first I thought the rod itself was a little stiff, but once I spooled it up (8# McCoy) the rod came to life. Jigs and Grubs, Worms and smaller swim baits all performed well. The graphite is very good on these rods and the split grip handle is very sensitive. A+
