Great rod. Excellent sensitivity in the Med Light. Loads up well to throw a crankbait as far and accurately as is necessary.

I love this rod. Inexpensive ,but well made. Recommended to me by my buddy who builds rods for a hobby. I have used it casting off shore for lakers in lake superior. Then I used it at the two hearted river in upper michigan for coho salmon. It is light weight, strong and flexible. I might get another one for my son. My biggest problem is now I want to go more and am too busy. But it is in my jeep ready to go when the opportunity presents.

I've purchased several Okuma rods from FishUSA, but the Celilo I have is an ultra-light that I use for crappies and small trout. You get a well-made rod for an exceptional price. You can't go wrong with the Celilo when you consider the value. I have family and friends who are occasional fishermen, who haven't accumulated a ton of gear. I keep extra rods as lenders when I take guests fishing. I tell them not to worry, I've got just what they'll need. I may purchase a few more as gifts for the kids. If they break a tip in a car door, you're not out $150+.

This is the third one of these rods I have owned, broke one because of me, I have use this rod for snook along the beach and it handle them without a problem. I don't think I would try and it around mangroves but it will handle most situations for light saltwater use and you can cast all day with it. Rod is just a pleasure to use.

I own three of these rods, a light, medium light, and medium. I like the way they look and cast. They're light in my hands. I didn't like the long Type B handle though. As soon as I received the ML and M, I cut the cork handle back to 5". I use the 7'6" light for trout streams, the 9'6" medium light for small rivers/ponds, and the 8'6" medium for larger bodies. The two lighter rods handle trout and larger bass with no problems. I'm waiting to hook a decent sized northern pike on the medium to see how it handles that type of pull. I always keep my rods in cases when not actually in use and ANY rod tip will snap off if you're walking through the woods and jam it into a pine tree...These rods are perfect for someone who sees no sense in owning a $300 spinning rod...

a 7'6" rod with very smaal guides that limit the caste with a conventional spinning reel

Just wanted to update my review. I started using this rod for trolling as well as plastics. I love the actio that the 7'0" rod delivers when trolling.
I managed to land a 15# trout out of Corona Lake while trolling with this rod. I am amazed that a rod of this price range can give such great tip action while at the same time having enough back bone to land a 15# Rainbow Trout fighting for it's life.
Don't hesitate, this is a great rod! Well worth the money and then some!

I just got my new Okuma Celilo 7'0" light action, and I am very happy with the purchase. Great for jigging and power worms. The casting is almost effortless when matched up with my new ultra light reel.
I am very happy with the purchase, and would recomend this pole to any avid trout fisherman. Great value for the price.

This is a great rod. I bought the 7'0" model, and it has enough backbone for larger fish and has a nice whipiness for casting small lures/power worms/jigs.
I have it matched up with a Pinaccle Tiny Deadbolt, and this is a great combo for trout.
Took it out for this first time this past weekend, and it performed well above my expectations for the price tag.
All of my guides are in allignment, and I could not be happier with it's performance.

Purchased a new Celio this year, but had already purchased 3 others. They are good rods, well built, and have good action.
Comments about Okuma Fishing Tackle Corp. Okuma Celilo Spinning Rods:
This rod works perfectly for jigging walleye and smallmouth bass in the local rivers. The balance and sensitive of this rod allows you to feel the lightest bites yet has the power to set the hook.

A great little rod for the money. It can break easily though so care must be taken. They should be able to stand up to a little more pressure than they do?
Comments about Okuma Fishing Tackle Corp. Okuma Celilo Spinning Rods:
I river fish for browns and no rod I have ever tried works as well. It cast's great And gives the lure a lot of action when ripping. Catching 3 to 6 pound browns on 4 lb test is very hard without the right equipment.

I have purchased several CE-S-702l-1 rods. They are excellent for trout, any size. I purchased one for a friend. He now enjoys twitching a powerworm for trout.

These 7 foot Celilo rods CE-S-702L-1 are awesome for throwing a power worm with only a split shot when fishing for trout. Even large trout come in quickly. They out perform other rods costing much more. Protect the rod tip, they break easily.

I love this rod because it allows me to cast further and is light weight. I surf fish almost every day on my way home from work because my drive is about 30 out of 42 miles of prime Southern California beach from Santa Barbara to Oxnard. When I surf fish I tend to walk up and down the beach 1 to 2 miles and then back to where I started. This rod is also very good for lakes and streams, although I mostly surf fish.I like this rod so much that I ordered a second one for a female friend that I am teaching to fish. This resulted in another friend asking me to teach him, and he has ordered the same rod after I let him try out mine. And if you are wondering if it could really handle the bigger fish, I do catch, battle, and land large legal size halibut from the surf.
