I bought my 6' from Fish USA because they had the best price [...]. It is the finest fly rod I have. Roll cast? piece of cake. Strong? I landed a 17 3/4" brook trout on it. Sensitive? I caught a 4" native brook trout on it. Again, the best on the market. And, American made.

I've been fly fishing for over 30yrs. and this is by far the best rod I've ever owned. After purchasing this rod (9'6wt) I sold I all my "high end" rods. This rod out preformed them all - hands down. From Smallmouth Bass to Tailwater Rainbows this rod has the power and sensitivity to handle any situtation.

Bought the 9' 6" 7 wt. for great lakes steelhead, matched it with the cortland precision salmon/steelhead line. The rod casts great, is able to roll cast a mile, short casts and boomers - no problem. Great construction and components, beautiful blank finish and nice case. I'm proud to fish this rod. Thank you, St. Croix!

Now I have exactly what I wanted

My Avid Series 5 wt rod is made for medium to large creeks. The action and sensitivity are outstanding for fast reaction to strikes. I have better control while working trout than I had with my previous 4-5 wt rod.
I also appreciate the time spent with the folks at FishUSA that allowed me to determine this was the correct rod for me.
