The G. Loomis Classic GL3 Series Fly Rods are one of the the best performance values on the market today. These are medium-fast action rods that are extremely forgiving and very lightweight. This combination helps to minimize the tailing loop when casting, giving you a more powerful accurate cast. Designed with a multi-taper tip, they feel slightly stiffer than other G. Loomis rod families, generating high line speed with a slightly wider loop.

Comments about G. Loomis xxG. Loomis Classic GL3 Series Fly RodsDisc.:

I had Mel Guido, Rogue River guide in Gold Beach, OR build me two rods, one each in 5 wt and 6 wt. He used GL3 blanks.

These two rods, particularly the 5 wt are my go to rods for fishing the Deschutes around Maupin and the Grass Valley Lakes. They are classic fly rods, with smooth easy action, but the power when needed to make a long precise cast.

The real fun is of course playing a large trout in fast water. The rods can really work for you.

I own Sage, Powell, and Redington rods in various weights from 3 wt to 8 wt spey rods, and I generally always end up fishing the custom built gl3s.
