Comments about Sheffield Sheffield IM9 Float Rods:

You DO get what you pay for-case in point! This rod is rated IM9 by the factory!(see warr. card) For the money, yeah-ok. However, this rod suffers from bad, bad tip-sag and breaks(at tip sec.)like pre-boiled spaghetti! Had my tip snap 2nd time out, perhaps I sneezed too hard!

Comments about Sheffield Sheffield IM9 Float Rods:

I use this Float Rod for Salmon/Steelhead fishing. The rod snapped off on the first section while setting the hook on a fish. It was the second time I used it. I called the manufacture and they replaced the section no questions asked. [...] have not had any problems with the rod since.

Comments about Sheffield Sheffield IM9 Float Rods:

Wanted to fish this rod atleast three trips before I gave my personal opinion on the rod. Purchased the one with adjustable seat location. I like the three piece, it makes transport of a 13 plus foot rod easier. Nice action on rod, fishing lake run rainbows on the tribs. I run a 10lb mainline and down to 6lb lead, haven't broke a fish off that I didn't want off. Plenty of backbone to this rod to stop the surge of a powerhouse fish. The one downside is the weight of the rod is a little heavier than I personally like but can be dealt with fairly easily. All in all a good rod for the money....
