For the money it just doesn't get any better than this. So smooth owe so smooth. Light weight, quiet, durable, easy to use. Very inexpensive. I use this reel about once a week for casting at large Tiger Muskie, trout, Bass. I troll some also, and do a lot of jig fishing for Brooks and Splake.

I use this on a 7' ugly stick lite medium action and i love it. I get at least a 20% cast advantage when using this for bass and i get the fish in alot faster with the 6.2:1 ratio. I love this combo my friends at Fish USA helpede me put together. Thanks Doodles!!!

Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Deceiver Spinning Reels:

1st use of brand new reel was peacock bass fishing in Miami, Fl canal system. The bail assy. fell apart after the first 3-4 casts. All screws in the reel were loose when checked afterwards. Sent reel back and it was repaired free and back to me in 6 days. works beautifully now....VERY nice reel for the money. It is a 35 size reel with 15lb powerpro braid and compares well to my shimano stradic 3000 (strong drag, high speed retrieve, rigid hybrid aluminum/graphite construction..........Great value BUT check all of the screws when you first take it out of the box!! (loctite on all screws would be a good idea) I also just bought a Pflueger President XT 35 size reel and I like this one a little better and it was less than half the price of the PRES XT

Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Deceiver Spinning Reels:

Reel broke on around the 5th use. Would not reel at all and completely locked up. Took apart and parts were not put together properly causing jam. Gear stripped from trying to reel when locked up. Parts are cheap and reel was not properly assembled. When reassembled correctly reel is useless. Returning to company for refund.

Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Deceiver Spinning Reels:

I have several Shakespeare reels. This one is on the low end of the price spectrum, but you would never know it by the feel. It is solidly built and reels more smoothly than any other I own.

Comments about Shakespeare Fishing Tackle Shakespeare Deceiver Spinning Reels:

Hadn't purchased a Shakespeare reel in years so gave it a try as it looked like they had came up with a premium reel at a low cost. They are successful with many of their rods in this concept, but not this reel. It looks like a more expensive reel, but the insides are lacking in function. The anti-reverse is questionable right out of the box. Smooth reeling and nice drag but I suspect it will not last. Had I picked this up in a store I would not have purchased after giving it a good lookover.
