The Safina Pro features three ball bearings plus one roller bearing for silky smooth performance. The powerful multi-disc drag features Japenese-oiled felt washers for superior stopping power. The frame, sideplate and rotor features reinforced graphite construction while the spool and oversized bail wire are constructed from anodized aluminum.

I am very happy with the drag. It got tested heavily with some big steelhead in high water and performed great.

This reel was purchased for my son to start out steelhead fishing. Used a couple of times with no problems. Seems like a great beginner reel.

I purchased two of these, and my son and I used them for Steelies. We were VERY happy!!! These things performed like expensive reels, at 1/16 the price. I will buy more!!! You will not find a better reel for the price, for sure!!!
