Not only is this good looking, but it also reels smoothly. I use it for surf fishing, and shore fishing. In surf fishing this baby takes a beating, a dunking, the sand grits will be all over it but I just use clear ocean water to rinse it in the surf and I'm good to go keep surf fishing. Just remember when you're done for the day to rinse it with a warm tap water. I have the CD50 and am planning on buying the CD30 also.

I own 3 at present time. Tow medium size for Yellow Tails (Key Largo Fl) and the big one for bottom fishing (Big Snapper,Grupper). With the big reel I had only one mistke done by myself having the baitfeeder to the loose position when a big one hit, it took me a while to close the bail. Other than that I love everything from the lots of bearings to the metal handle.

i use the cd-65 ocean fishing off the rocks or beach. pitch out chunk mackerel, bloodworms or live bait, and set the baitfeeder and wait for the blues and stripers to run with it.just click it down and it sets the hook its self

Pretty fair reel and great bang for the buck. Use them and Shimano Surf Fishing OBX NC. Between the 2 I can't tell alot of difference both work fine for me. Good Fishing!
