I use this reel for heavy- fish (steelhead,laketrout and large catfish). The drag and gear ratio works just great under heavy conditions.The amount of 10 lb test line on the spool is great.

My SA-55 is on a 10ft. surf rod rated to 6oz. max. with thin 20lb. mono. (200-250yrds.). The Sa-55 looks small but does a great job. Buying some more reels for my sons.
