It's a fly reel! It holds the line. The line strips off to cast and the line winds on when you're done. But really now. Great reel for the price and the drag works like $200+ reel.

Bought the reel for flyfishing for steelhead. Haven't landed too many yet, but they are fun to have on. The not landing has nothing to do with the reel. So far it has been flawless.

Comments about Okuma Fishing Tackle Corp. Okuma Integrity A Series Large Arbor Fly Reels:

I bought a 8/9a about year ago. If the reel gets wet (as if submerged or in a soaking rain) the drag is unreliable. Mine slips. The drag tension is not consistent.

I purchase the 10/11 to fish for Ablies in NC, but I just returned from a Key West trip and landed a 110 Tarpon and the reel operated flawless. I could of used a larger Flyrod and Reel but this 10/11 wt worked great.
