The Sheffield Sirata SRT-1002 center pin reel is the first center pin reel to feature the precision smoothness center pin#39;s are known for with the fish stopping power of a center disk drag. Now when a fish runs you won#39;t be at the mercy of a simple clicker and an over run spool. Set the drag, turn the drag knob to the off position, cast and drift like a standard center pin reel, then when a fish is hooked, turn the drag knob to the on position. The outgoing drag is silent with a pleasant audible click retrieve.

I had purchased the Okuma Reel (my 1st center pin) back around Apr. Practiced casting w/ it last week and took it to the river on a rainy day. To my surprise about an hour or so into fishing I noticed a sound of a washed out bearing scratching, and not much longer into fishing the reel started getting stuck where it needed a tug every now and then.
The reel never made it into the water or was NEVER abused in any way. Later that night I took it apart dried it out oiled it and was fine the next day. It is an excellent reel, but are they that finicky?

I love this reel.I ripped a tendon to my finger last fall and it never healed correctly. So sadly I gave up Centerpinning for few months(I was frustrated from palming and putting to much pressure on the fish when I first started up again). But now I'm back Fishing for Steelhead and Salmon the way a love to, with the Centerpin!!! Thanks to Okuma
