Nice center pin reel. I looked for weeks at pins and finaly got this one. I am happy with it. Great for a starter.I use it for float fishing.

I only fished this reel once, but what a pleasure. It spins freely and nicely. Mostly though it is so light that I can fish the reel in my one hand all day long without hardly even tiring. In addition, it fits snugly in my grip. A true modern-classic!

I have been float fishing for many years with spinning tackle and wanted to upgrade to a center pin reel to advance in the sport.
I had done some background research over the years and was waiting to "pull the trigger" on a high end or a better than average reel at a good price when I found one.
I have owned several Hardy products for fly fishing and I understand the Grey line is a division of Hardy. Hardy stuff is known for it's super high quality.
This reel is similar in design to the classic J.W. Young Purist which is a very high end reel.
Since this reel is built on a high end design by a reputable manufacturer, when I found it at Fish USA it was a no brainer.
I "pulled the trigger" on this one and I think I made the right decision.
