Comments about Shimano Shimano Calcutta TE Baitcasting Reels:

I have a 401 TE and I use it on river banks for Alaska King salmon. I use 40# mono with no trouble at all. I have other reels but this is my go to reel. I thought it was a little spendy, then after I started to catch fish with it I found it worth the money. I highly recommend this reel.

Comments about Shimano Shimano Calcutta TE Baitcasting Reels:

Great for big pike and lake trout in Cree Lake in Sask. Canada. I bought (2) 400's for casting for pike in the shallow bays (28 lb biggest) and (1) 700 for trolling for big trout (46 lb biggest). The reels held up perfectly. STRONG recommendation !
