Bought the reel and right out of the box, it could cast a country mile (after adjusting the cast control knob). When casting, it is a little noisy for my liking.
But you cannot deny the smoothness and the anti-reverse is superb. There is no play at all, at least that's what I experienced.
The weight is amazingly light. This is a first baitcaster below 7oz that I have handled. There was one day where I did non-stop casting for 3 hours straight, and my arms were far from sore.
The drag is smooth as advertised and the colour of the reel is to my liking.
Fighting a fish is effortless with the carbon matrix drag. Not to mention the oversized handles that makes it easier to reel in.
All in all, I find this reel very useful but a little expensive. If it was a little more affordable, I would definitely buy more of these.

I'm using it on a 6'6" med action custom built rod. throwing topwate and lipless crankbaits. Love the combo.

as a life-long bass fisherman, i know a good baitcasting reel from junk. just putting some bass pro's name on it does not make it a good reel. i bought one and returned it. i own several abu garcia reels which are great. this one is not. the reel is over priced and not for any serious fisherman to consider owning.
