I'm an engineer, and have grave doubts about the other "multi-piece" units on the market... especially thouse with bungee cords. This product is simple, it works, and it's much more stable than any other that I've used. Yes, they could increase the tubing diameter; yes, they could add a drain hole... and maybe those improvements will come... but until then it's still the best staff out there. I do believe it comes in varying lengths... so just be careful when you buy!!!

This wading staff seems like a good idea, but can be improved greatly. It is a bit too long and too thin which makes it easy to bend. The articulated joint seems weak. After a day of use the water accumulates in the pipe and is nearly impossible to drain out which then becomes stagnant.I think that any $12-$15.00 aluminum hiking staff [...] would do just as good.

Folds and unfolds easily which makes it easier to store and carry. Two pieces makes it much stronger than other multiple pieces. Very impressed with product. You could pay a lot more
and receive a lot less.
