As I was filleting my fish my knife quit working so as a handyman I took the knife apart to see what the problem was and here is this little nylon gear driven by a brass gear well you can quess the problem,the little nylon gear was the loser,so with no parts availible in our throw away society more landfill which we all know is getting more scarce as each year goes by.

Haven't caught any fish yet, but it sure carved the Christmas turkey just fine.

You don't give enough space to write a comment. Fish holder prongs/blades should have some kind if shield or covering. They are very very sharp!

As I get older, and my hands become less steady, I hesitate to try and power a sharp knife though a big fish. So I bought an electric to provide the power. Cleaning big walleyes requires a knife powerful enough to cut through bone but still be flexible enough to trim the fillet off the skin. This knife fills the bill.
