I take the belly hook off to limit injury to trout.
Swift or slowly moving current.

this is the best trout bait ive ever used, my go to bait has always ben a 9# countdown rainbow trout rapala, with a rapala you get about five casts per pool and there done, i waited untill they shut down on the rap, and switched to a matzuo rainbow trout 2" nano and got ten trout on ten casts after the fish had turned off on the rap in the same pool. you gotta beet them off with a stick with this bait

This is by far the best minnow bait on ultralight tackle I've used. Fished on a jerk and pause retrieve, it is absolutely deadly on crappie, largemouth and white bass.

It works.

Fish it like a live minnow. Cast it, twitch it, reel it. On the about the third cast with this minnow. I landed a nice brown trout. Just 3 weeks ago.

The Nano proved irresistible in slow moving bodies of water. A moderate retrieve speed, along with one to two second pauses at five to seven second intervals, proved the most productive. Success rate is equivalent or higher than the comparative Floating Rapala. The only issue is the finish; the paint's durability is fairly underwhelming. However, that said it is an incredibly effective lure for trout, weakfish and schooling bluefish.

this minnow is so great i call it the magic minnow, I've caught everything from perch, crappie bluegill, LARGEMOUTH BASS, it works great, if i don't have one i don't want to go fishing

We tried everything for a year to catch some fish.
We used power bait to worms and never got even a bite. Once we started using Matzuo we have never looked back. It's the best in my book !

The best in the current lure I have ever used. Trout and smallmouth cannot resist it in flowing water. It catches pickeral and goggle eye just as well.

It's a killer. Great for 1 to 2lb. trout BUT; If it were larger, 3" or 4" it would garner more large catches, the big ones get off the small lure size. Other than that, it would be 5 star rated by me.
The color scheme is perfect & it proves to bring bites when other lures don't. Get it bigger & we'll test it for you on large fish. R.N.S.

the items i bought are only found in stores at certain sizes i have to order from you all to get the size i need. the hooks need to be better constructed or stronger they seem to bend easy and break as well

this lure has great size and durability for all types of fishing styles and game fish but it lacks on the paint it tends to scrape off very easily in just a few trips and causes it to loose all its visual characteristics time and time again
