Super for flats fishing. Redfish, Trout, Drum
Comments about Berkley Berkley Gulp! 5 Saltwater Jerk Shad:
I fish salt water flats mostly. Bail stealers such as pinfish and blowfish will bite off the tail and thus the lure loses much of it's action. I've caught everything from trout, snook and reds. My favorite jerk bait.
Comments about Berkley Berkley Gulp! 5 Saltwater Jerk Shad:
Use on the flats for weedless fishing. fish will pick it up even if lying on the bottom. Great action and aerodynamic if properly rigged.
A must for redfish,trout,drum

In So Cal, it works on the calicos when chum bait is around. Colors: watermelon/neon, blue pepper/neon

Fish will bite if it is just sitting on the bottom. Never seen anything like it.

If I didn't see it with my own eyes I would not believe it. Berkley Gulp out fished real bait every time. They did their homework when they developed Gulp baits.

The jerk shad are remarkable. The only suggestions that I would make is (and probably true for many other types) keep them out of the sun. I carry several packages of these when I go out in a small, soft side cooler with an ice pack for those hot Florida summer days!

All Berkley Gulp should be banned. This stuff works tooooo good!!!! The fish don't stand a chance. At the rate fishing are being caught with these lures, bag limits will have to be revised soon. Otherwise, there were be a shortage of fish for our children. This stuff is really that good!!!

I use this product on 1/2oz Spro Bucktail and a 3/8 to 1/2oz jighead. The colors that really work well are sardine, sand eel. Excellent early season till mid June. After Mid June I tip the hook with a small piece of live sheddar crab.

Pop the jerk shad on a 3/8 jig head in the Barnegat Bay with 8lb test and give a little twitch as you drift. I outfished my stubborn fishing partner using Finesse 8 to 1. He finally switched and in 2 minutes had a fish.

This is my bait of choice. I use this exclusivly when Fluke fishing. I catch more fish using the Jerk Shad than when I have frozen cut bait or even whole squid. This is the best thing on the market...
