The Rapala Jigging Shad Rap is an excellent bait for walleyes when coupled with live or cut bait. My only complaint is that the treble hook is just a little too small. I removed and replaced them with slightly larger hooks.

I use these jigs throughout the year. I have caught Walleye, Smallmouth, Largemouth and Brim ranging from 15' to 80' deep. I have never used them for ice fishing because our lakes don't freeze here in North Carolina but they work great on suspending fish.

I use the Shad Rap to jig while ice fishing. My flasher clearly shows that fish will come up from the bottom a long way to check out the Rap. Splake and landlocks don't hesitate to slam it. Somedays the perch require a live grub or two on the treble hooks to get them to bite. It attracts fish from a long ways away and holds them well once they bite.
