We have caught alot of walleyes on these. The back hook needs to be cut off because it gets caught on the bottom of the hole when ice fishing & fish can get off.

This lure has great action for a little bit of movement . Paint schemes look realistic. I have down sized the treble hook on the bottom of a few lures to adjust for the size of fish being caught.

Add a minnow head and jig it. Fish will hit it with no bait as well. It also hooks everything, no matter the size, you know whats biting cause it will hook it.

just pop it off the bottom about 1 foot then let hit the bottom fluff the jig on the bottom as to stir the dirt a little .then just slowly pump the jig up and down obout an inch or two and wait for the bump from the fish awsome .

the nils master jigging shad in glow has been my go to lure the last four years..i use the largest size..i do "tweak" the lure by eliminating both the front and back hooks..i also cut one of the plastic fins at an angle to match the other fin..what i have found is the lure will rise quickly and make an abrupt return which seems to attract and trigger more fish..this lure does an excellent job of "dragging" (jig and release the line so the lure falls a distance from your ice hole, then slowly drag the lure back to your hole creating a small streak of mud at the bottom..drives perch nuts..best luck for walleyes comes by fishing this lure 2-3 feet above the bottom..one note of caution the "gators" northerns love em'..best use fireline for a leader and i always tie on a barrel swivel about 2' above the snap tie on the lure..i very seldom tie directly as this can limit the movement..the ball swivel is important to limit line twisting..another word of caution: fishing this lure in close proximity to another person can create a problem as the lure "swims" at least 4' from a person's hole..especially in deeper water..i fish this lure without any additional treats such as a minnow head, spikes etc..but, that is not to say it could
not be done..good luck

We use these at depths of up to 90 feet with braided line and a flourocarbon leader. The jigging shad matches the bait perfectly. The walleyes love these in cold water!

Comments about Nils Master USA Nils Master Jigging Shads:
The design of this lure is great, the action, the weights and balance is very good. But the quality of this product borderlines on junk. The hooks are not strong, they break of easily especially the front hook. The back fin material is to light, it breaks off easily and are not attached well. This lure needs some serious quality control, and at [$]bucks a pop if it is not improved I will be forced to go back to the old jigging rap.
