I took my 6 year old son ice fishing for his first time (the last time I ice fished was 30 years ago). I put the cicada lure on a snap swivel on an ice fishing pole and told him to "move the line up and down". In 20 minutes he had hooked his first largemouth of his life (about 12" long). I caught nothing.

A great lure for certain conditions however I'm disappointed with quality of my new ones, there are signs of rust where the hooks go through the blade and this never happened with older product.

Comments about Reef Runner Reef Runner Cicada Lures:

I've just started using Cicada's this year and they have become part of my set of go-to lures. Their fluttering action and the vibration they produce seems to call fish to them. They can be worked in a variety of the ways and in a number of different environments, so they are one of the most versatile lures in my tackle box. When fishing in weedy ponds or lakes, their two hook set up prevents them from getting hung up as much as treble hooks. It is a great lure!

I just tried a Cicada. I was fishing for bass. My first two casts brought me two fish. The lure has great action, you can use it in multiple ways (steady retrieve or jig), and fish love it.

Highly effective trout lure
By OMOcolor from Bergen, Norway on 4/20/2009
Pros:
Irresistible to Fish
Cons:
Poor Construction
Best Uses:
Fresh Water, Shore Casting
Describe Yourself:
Avid Fisher
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Reef Runner Reef Runner Cicada Lures:

This lure seems to attract more fish than any other lure I have used. The upper hook sometimes get tangled with the line, killing the crazy action, so best use a sideways trow. You instantly feel by the action when this happens. It also rust easily in salt water, but the productivity makes this lure a top rated lure

Comments about Reef Runner Reef Runner Cicada Lures:

You won't find a better blsde bait available. I use these for jigging the deep (25-40) breaks anytime of the year. If you like to feel your lure working you won't find a better lure to use.Casting off the breaks and working it back like a jig will put a lot of walleye and smallmouth in your live well. I've got every color in every size in my store and in my box. Fishing a 150 plus days a year you need a go to bait and you won't find a better on to use then the Cicada. "Scott you made a great lure and it's been a pleasure doing business with Reef Runner.

Comments about Reef Runner Reef Runner Cicada Lures:

This is a great, I said great lure....HOWEVER, the hooks are lousy, change them first, and you will be amazed on what hits it.....I fish Lake Erie and everything hits it, from Walleye to Perch, and you will get action from Sheepshed if you like the that kind of action???......tremendous bait, but change them hooks, and do not direct tie either
